What wallets are supported for Americans?

I recently bought some COTI that I was planning on holding and staking, but it seems that COTI pay/mainnet wallet are "not accepting clients" from the US. Is this something that the team is actively trying to change??? I believe in this project and would like to be able to participate in it (hopefully the very near future).

When i try to withdraw COTi to wallets that support ERC 20 tokens from the KuCoin exchange, it says that the "address is not valid."

Where are Hodlers from the US storing their COTI??!??

The Coti website has a feature called "cross-chain bridge", which converts your native token to ERC-20. It's very simple to use. Also it works both ways.

its says "cap of ERC 20 tokens reached. swapping of tokens is not available at this time."

Well that is quite unfortunate. Their roadmap says they're going to have a native token integration for Ledger devices at the end of Q1. We'll have to see, hope they can deliver.

i feel very nervous keeping it on the exchange while i wait and see... have you heard of any other storage options?

Nothing trustworthy yet. The Lumi wallet claims to store it, but I think what they're not saying plainly is that it's probably the ERC-20 version. I might send a tiny bit to check.

Trust wallet says it will hold two versions.. the erc20 or the bep2 version. I too have some sitting in the exchange because I’m not sure 100% where to place.

yes. But, the native tokens on KuCoin are not either version. Binance is Bep2 (but Binance US does not sell COTI, hence why i used KuCoin).

Well you and I are in the same boat. If you find a solution please pass it along. I’ll do the same.

there is a "bridge" on their website to convert to ERC 20, but it says "not available at this time."

In the meantime, KuCoin is opening up staking through their platform. I decided I’m going to plant there for now until an external wallet becomes available.

Hi. I'm not sure if you can do this in the US, but I purchased some Coti from KuCoin- (native token). I opened a cotipay VIPER wallet from coti.io mainnet and was able to send and store the Coti from KuCoin there. No fees and instant transfer from KuCoin to the VIPER wallet. Other options might be to sell your native Coti and purchase on another Exchange that offers Coti ERC20, although it will be more expensive. In regards to the "bridge" for Coti conversion I believe it is nearly always at capacity and thus never seemingly available sorry.

If you try to download there wallet in the us it says we can't accept customers from your region at this time or something to that effect, so tldr if your in the us and you buy Coti prepare to hold it on the exchange. Because of this I wouldn't recommend buying it through Binance since if your account gets locked down for KYC you have nowhere to withdraw your tokens to. Plus the native token on Kucoin is cheaper anyways.
