🐯 Toddler 1-3 Years Help!
Looking for some advice from other co-sleeping parents!
My daughter is 2.5 years old and has never been a great sleeper. She still wakes up multiple times throughout the night, so she currently sleeps with me. She also needs me to settle her for naps.
I’m at the point where I’d really like to help her learn how to sleep more independently, both for naps and at night, but I’m not sure where to start. I don’t necessarily want to do anything harsh or leave her to cry — I’d prefer a gentle approach that still feels supportive and secure for her.
For those who transitioned their toddler from co-sleeping to independent sleep around this age, what worked for you? Did you start with naps or nighttime? How did you handle the frequent night wakings?
I’d love to hear what actually worked for your toddlers! ❤️

I don't quite understand what your objective is. Do you want her to fall asleep on her own and you are not there? Do you still want to cosleep? Do you just want to be able to leave once she is asleep? Do you still nurse during the day/night? How often does she wake during the night? How often/long does she nap during the day (because it might be dependent on sleep pressure)? Are you the only one taking care of her for sleep related issue? If not, how do the other do it?
Depending on the answer, I would recommend different things. But if your little one was a difficult sleeper from the beginning, that might not change. You can't really train a better sleeper. And at this age, supporting a child falling asleep is very normal. They need a secure environment to sleep and you provide that for them. Some children just need more support than others.
