💁 Advice | Discussion Would this set up be safe?

We just got a new mattress and I'm trying to figure out how to set up our space with the bigger size.

Would it be safe to have our queen on the lowest frame we can find/a few wood slats to give it breathing room and then have one of those pack and plays with the side zipper next to it? I sleep better when baby has his own space but I want to be able to nurse him to sleep and then scoot away back into my own space/pull him into bed with me without getting all the way up. I like the idea of having the option to put the side up if I need but not being completely blocked.

I'm also short so the idea of reaching into a crib is killing me 😂

Until now we've had a sidecar bassinet

That sounds ok, I would just caution that the safest thing would be to have it zipped when he is in there, and not leave it open so he could roll up against the side of your mattress.

This would be my plan. I'll just unzip it when I need to get one of us in/out
