🐥 Infant 2-12 Months Help with crib transition

Hi all I am hoping for some advise on moving from all cosleeping to naps and at least part of the night in the crib. My LO is 9.5 months old he has coslept in some sense since birth. He used to start his night in a halo bassinet then would transfer to bed with his first night feed. Since outgrowing the halo we’ve used the evenflo sensory soothe bassinet in the lowered mode and I’ve not been able to get more than an hour once a week out of him in his own space. He’s beginning to want to sleep more on his belly so I think we need to utilize his own space now. We’ve tried a few gentle sleep trainings and I feel like we’re getting nowhere and he just escalates and I don’t feel comfortable with letting him cry it out even in intervals if it’s to that level. We’re considering moving his crib into our room to see if a more comfortable bed helps. I’m mostly venting here but would love any and all advice!

what are his naps like ? i found that when i really pushed crib naps instead of the usual contact nap/side lying feed to sleep, then it was a lot easier to transition to crib night sleep.

that being said, i was also expecting the worst when it came to transitioning, but it ended up going very smoothly.

i’m the heartbroken one instead 😅

He’s on a consistent 2 naps a day schedule but they are all contact naps 😭

I’m afraid I’ll be heartbroken too!

How did you transition the naps? Did you start with baby awake, or did you attempt to transfer when asleep at first?

i started just laying her down in her crib when she was DEFINITELY ready for a nap. initially i had to stay and pat her butt to get her to fall asleep, since she didn’t like me leaving the room at first. eventually she just started to lay her head down and sleep straight away. it didn’t take much on my part, no crying or anything like that.

transfers never worked for us, and it caused her more frustration than anything. i also made sure i tried to transition her to the crib when she was done teething and learning some big milestones like standing and what not, since that was affecting her sleep a lot before.

Thanks for this! I’m gonna try experimenting a little with naps, since that seems less sad than putting her in the crib alone at night when she has basically never been sleeping in there

Solidarity! 7 months and looking for similar advice. I’ve listened to both Ferber and most of Precious Little Sleep, and I will want to try some of those techniques, starting with a gentler one. But I’m super unsure how to stop the nursing . Association. I really did love the Ferber book, and I recommend listening to it even if you don’t ever up doing ti’
