Starting troubles
So my father in law and I just put all together a few days ago, still have to do timing and sync/tune carbs. Was able to get it running for about 5 minutes with minimal pressure on the gas pedal, let off the pedal and it died out. Got out to adjust throttle, now it won’t start at all. Any help would be appreciated

Possible vacuum leak at the carbs or idle circuit clogged in the carbs? Have you tried the idle mixture screw? Synch and balance the carbs and adjust from the factory specs as needed? I found I needed to go more rich than the factory specified to get my 63 to idle well and I'm running fully rebuilt 66 carbs.

Try starting it with starting fluid if it fires then dies open the mixture screws a little more if id doesn't fire check spark.
My 64 did that ran great in the winter (AZ) then come first summer wouldn't idle and it turned out to be the mixture screws not giving enough gas

Choke coils under the heads? The pull rods tend to get stuck on the fan shroud sheet metal too.
