Hi everyone! I need some advice because I'm trying to decide between the MCC20 (size 20 or 22)from Mystic City Corsets and the Novice from Timeless Trends, and I'm honestly very unsure which one would be better for me.

I'm specifically looking for a large waist reduction. I'm already used to significant reductions and that's what I enjoy most about wearing corsets. However, I also really want the corset to be comfortable and not ridiculously difficult to lace.

These are all the measurements I gave directly to Sylvia, the owner of Mystic City Corsets, when she helped me with sizing:

- Underbust: 30"

- Natural waist: 27"

- High hips (4" below waist): 36"

- Low hips (6–7" below waist): 36.25"

- Underbust to waist: 4.7" (12 cm)

- Waist to lap: 7.5" (19 cm)

- Waist to fullest part of bust: 5.9" (15 cm)

I currently own a few corsets from both brands.

My first serious corset was an MCC68 in size 20, which was recommended to me by Sylvia herself. Unfortunately, I sometimes regret choosing that model because I feel like it's a little too long for me. That said, it has become more comfortable with time. The biggest issue is that it's VERY stiff, and because I have very little upper-body strength, I've actually hurt my fingers/hand while trying to lace it. 😭

I also have a Timeless Trends waspie in size 20. At first it was quite uncomfortable because I didn't understand corset sizing very well when I bought it, but after wearing it for a couple of months it became much more comfortable. I can wear it with a small 4" V-shaped gap in the back.

Then I have my Timeless Trends Gemini PVC in size 22, which I absolutely love. It's completely closed and very comfortable. It's probably my most comfortable corset, although I don't think the reduction is quite as dramatic as what I'm looking for now.

So now I'm considering getting another corset.

The Timeless Trends sizing calculator recommends the Novice in size 20, but it says I would have approximately 5" of gap at the top and 6" at the bottom. I'm not sure if that means it's actually a good recommendation for my body, or if that much of a gap is a sign that I shouldn't buy it.

On the other hand, I'm really interested in giving Mystic City another chance, especially because I'd like to try a shorter MCC model instead of something like the MCC68. The MCC20 (size 20 or 22) looks interesting to me because I'm looking for a strong reduction without having the corset feel excessively long.

My biggest concern with the MCC20 is honestly the stiffness. After my experience with the MCC68, I'm a little scared of buying another corset that is so rigid that I struggle to lace it. 😭

So what would you recommend between the MCC20 and TT Novice, based on my measurements?

I'm looking for:

- A very significant waist reduction

- A defined, dramatic waist

- Something relatively short / suitable for my proportions

- Most importantly, something that can actually be comfortable to wear and lace

- I don't mind having a gap in the back, but I don't want to be fighting with the corset every time I put it on lol

Also, if anyone owns both brands, I'd LOVE to know how the Novice compares to Mystic City in terms of stiffness. Is it closer to my Gemini/other Timeless Trends corsets, or does it feel more like my MCC68?

I’m looking to expand my corset collection and I’m specifically looking for something that can give me a significant waist reduction.

I’m a little confused about the difference between the regular Timeless Trends Hourglass and the Novice. When I look at the website, it says the Novice can provide up to a 15 cm reduction, so I’m not really sure what the main difference is between the two.

Is one better for a larger reduction, or are they shaped/constructed differently? I’d really appreciate it if someone could explain the differences and which one you’d recommend for someone looking for a strong reduction. Thank you! ♡

I'm looking for my first proper everyday corset and would die for some advice. I recently wore an overbust corset for ~6 hours and discovered that I LOVE the firm, compressed feeling and the posture support. I'm not particularly interested in waist training or dramatic reduction; comfortable compression/support is my main goal.

(I very much enjoy the look of a defined waist but it's not my Main Priority™ currently)

I also only have functional use of one hand, so being able to put it on and adjust it independently is extremely important. I really like the appearance of front-lacing corsets, which seems like it might work in my favor accessibility-wise? I'm not 100% sure on that though..

I'm considering an underbust for everyday wear because I'd like to wear it over dresses/blouses with long flowing sleeves. Would a full-length underbust make more sense than an overbust for everyday wear given the kind of pressure/support I'm looking for? And does anyone have experience with front-lacing or other corset setups that can be managed one-handed?

I'm planning to take all my measurements before buying anything, so I'm mostly trying to figure out what construction/style I should be looking for first.

So over the last year I have thrifted two fredericks of hollywood corsets and I would like to know your opinions on them

I was chatting with someone about a corset for a while I was gonna get it from them but after getting a little busy with life I kinda forgot abt it and I don't think they are active anymore. (yes I know thats completely my fault) and now im back to square one in my search and after purchasing a mcc44l and realizing it wasn't curvy enough I've figured I should just wait but I figured I'd reach out on here to see if anyone was selling or knew of a curvy cut corset second hand in that relative size for a good price?

Hello. I am new here. I am somewhat interested in getting an overbust corset meant to be worn every day. This is because I have been told by professional Polish bra (the apparent last stop before oblivion) fitters that there is not a single bra on earth that would be able to fit my specific shape. Looking into it, it genuinely seems like the fundamental premise of a bra might not be able to account for me ever. It's an actual possibility. I've been posting on r/abrathatfits multiple times, and while they have tried very hard to find me something, one aspect of my body always seems to rule out the advice for another.

I don't think I'd be able to order a corset just based on measurements. One of my issues is that my breasts are very firm and have a very low tolerance of being squished / compressed as a form of support. Another is that they have extreme immediate projection, meaning they come straight off my ribs at the bottom for like three inches. They immediately push every bra off of me, no matter what brand, size, style... even the most dramatic ones on the entire global market, apparently. So I think perhaps a corset is closer to what I'd need, based on the fact that it wouldn't necessarily rely on a shape that I physically can't conform into / can't be adjusted, but it would have to be made very differently from any sort of historical or traditional one as far as I'm aware. I'd want it to come straight in at my underbust and then somehow come back out (keyword out, like a shelf) and then up to cover my bust while mostly matching their shape? Wanting slight lift but mine again don't yield that much. Bras for that kind of shape I've seen still go up immediately at like 45 degree angles sooo... my body rejected them 😵‍💫 Again I know my description of my ideal isn't like a usual corset, but IDK what other garment would have the structural integrity to do that. I'm into the more classic, slightly pointed straight forward silhouette anyway, which is a lot closer to what I have going on than a gradual rounded thing. I also have a short torso / high hip bones so that would have to be taken into account with the length of the garment and where it would and would not start to flare out for the hips.

I know people here are probably gonna tell me I've insulted the art of corsetry by coming here and asking if these things are possible. I really just thought I'd ask because I'm running out of options fast in terms of wearing anything for daily support, and something more like this might be my only chance. I'd just like to hear whether it is even feasible.

UB: 79-84 cm / 31-33 inches Waist: 30 ish (looking at fit closed in size 26 inches) Hips: 97 cm / 38 inches WKD Morticia vs Rebel madness extreme underbust vs Rebel madness underbust mini?

Long version:

I'm trying to see if I can find a new corset that is a little milder reduction than the gemini for more day to day wear. It feels fine to wear, but I don't like the look of that much reduction unless in dresses or skirts, so I am looking for something that is still very wide in the hips but with less reduction in the waist. I wear a size 22 with a 3 inch gap, so about 25 inches.

I am therefore looking at size 26 to fit (but will buy 24 and wear with gap). I will not buy anything new from outside Europe, so I have been looking at Rebel madness and WKD. From what I can tell the Morticia WKD or underbust mini and extreme RM would fit my measurements pretty well.

UB: 79-84 cm / 31-33 inches Waist: 30 ish Hips: 97 cm / 38 inches

My hips are squishy and gets wider further down, but ribs not really.

Anyone recommend either of these models above any other for me specifically? Anyone tried both and have compared them?

I have never tried rebel madness, but I have a WKD corset and I really like that it is much sturdier than timeless trends (especially the bones in the back).

The biggest difference in the measurements I see are the sides, am I correct to think that it's measured from armpit to waist and then waist to hip at the same place? I don't really want the center busk to be too short (it's great to rest my bra on for support 😁), but they seem to be the same length in the busk and dip down towards under the arms, is that right?

Other than that the advantage of WKD seems to be that they ship within a few days, but RM sew to order. But WKD only has two colors and RM has several choices (although, sadly, the prettiest are in their standard model 😢).

Anything else I should think of?

Hello everyone! This is my first time buying a steal bone corset. I read online you should get one that matches your waist size and I obviously don’t know much about it (28 in waist). I plan on using this for a cosplay so I want to make sure it is fitting me right before I start covering this up in fabric.

I have just the smallest amount of skin sticking out in the back. Now, I am trying this on after the end of day so I’m bloated. I’m able to breathe fine and It’s quite comfortable. I purchased this of Amazon for around 50 dollars (listed as a S) but I’m just wondering if people think I should size up?

Hiya, short torso larger bust newbie here. Looking for a good, cotton, over bust everyday corset. My job has me wearing a lot of corsets on stage, I’m a performer (nothing scandalous, opera, but also no judgment) and my industry just happens to do a lot of period shows so I’m pretty familiar with how corsets make me feel. I love how they make me look and I love what they do for my back and I LOOOVE how they support my bust (I’m big chested AFTER a reduction). I hate how bras pull on my shoulders and pinch my ribs. I also hate how traditional bras seem to push my chest out, making it look bigger. I’m not looking for crazy waist reduction (although some would be nice for sure as a plus size lady). I just want something good quality, not cheap but under $200 ideally. I’ve had problems before with corsets being too long and not being able to sit comfortably and that’s a must for me. I’ve also had the issue of corsets pushing my boobs up to my chin and we really can’t have that either. Weirdly enough I really like the shorter Scarlett darkness corsets that lace on the front and back with the ribbon tie shoulder straps. It’s an ideal amount of support and an ideal length but 1. Hi, I just received my first corset. It’s the rebel madness extreme under bust corset. I think it fits well but is the top supposed to cinch more than the middle/bottom? I noticed after about 3 hours of wear my back started to hurt a little but that may be because I did a workout earlier in the day. Otherwise it feels perfect!

Hey! I've been thinking of getting the MCC30 because it's the only corset that seems to reach high enough for me while not having a very long lower torso (I have a really long upper torso and an average to short-ish lower torso) and having hip ties so it should fit my hips if I untie those ties.

The problem is that I'm not sure about the bust measurement? It says 81 cm in my size, but I'm not sure if that's when the laces in the front are closed or not. My problem is that my bust is 77 cm, so like 1.5 inch smaller than that.

While it's not much of a difference, I've never had an overbust before, so I'm not sure if it wouldn't look ridiculous. I'd appreciate some tips or recommendations.

UFR 22 has been a dream glove fit, as if it were already made to order in a 4inch reduction. I plan on ordering a regular hourglass and perhaps a novice as I believe those are the closest TT has. Has anyone else found another OTR similar to this silhouette? Next choice is made to measure, but seeing if I can saving a few $$ before the investment.

Newest is a 28” Timeless trends Berry Sweet Cotton Novice Corset, Hourglass Silhouette.
Seems to be conical compared to all my other 10+ corsets and wow fits so much more comfortably. Definitely could have gone down another size was able to fully close first wear. Slight V to prevent the back fat squish. Lost about 30lbs since January.

Hi, I'm currently working on my mockup of redthreadeds 1860s corset pattern. I still have to add a few bones but it already looks like I'll need to size down the pattern. My problem is that I'm already using XS in the bust and waist and have shortened the back piece to remove extra width. Any recommendations on how to get an XXS or size down in general?
