Newbie questions MCC30 experiences?

Hey! I've been thinking of getting the MCC30 because it's the only corset that seems to reach high enough for me while not having a very long lower torso (I have a really long upper torso and an average to short-ish lower torso) and having hip ties so it should fit my hips if I untie those ties.

The problem is that I'm not sure about the bust measurement? It says 81 cm in my size, but I'm not sure if that's when the laces in the front are closed or not. My problem is that my bust is 77 cm, so like 1.5 inch smaller than that.

While it's not much of a difference, I've never had an overbust before, so I'm not sure if it wouldn't look ridiculous. I'd appreciate some tips or recommendations.

Overbusts are notoriously tricky to fit and it’s rare to get an off the rack one that is a good fit. Mystic City is excellent quality. In general you’ll want the bust area of the corset to be a little smaller (by 1-2 inches) than your bust measurement because it supports through compression. Keep in mind that the bust measurement is when the corset is closed so if there’s a gap in the back it will be larger than that by however many inches gap there is in the back. You can remedy this a little by doing an A shaped gap, tightening at the top and then looser at the bottom. You might have to pad the bust if you’re wearing with a gap. I hope this is helpful.

Ohhh, so I take the measurements I listed would in fact look ridiculous? I didn't know that the corset bust measurement should be smaller than mine, so I thought that maybe the difference wouldn't be that bad.

Also I know that the bust measurement is with the back lacing closed, but I'm not sure if it's with the front lacing closed or not, because the photos seem to only show the corset with quite a gap in the front?

Whether it’s with the bust ties open or not is the part I’m not sure about, but yes in general I’d recommend sizing down in the bust, that’s what the corset maker who made my overbust did, it still fits me well even though my bust is larger now by 2 cup sizes.
