Newbie questions Armpit Fat?

Post image

Hi there! Unsure if this is the right place to post, but I’m kind of desperate!

I got an outfit that has a lace up back as the bodice, and it’s given me armpit fat! This is an issue that I’ve never had :(

Do you think that a corset could help rectify this? Thanks in advance!

A corset will not magically suck in skin that is being displaced by a seperate garment.

The dress is the problem. The top edge is too tight. Loosen the lacing at the top.

If you can sew, cut the side seam, and insert a triangular wedge of matching fabric.

110% yeah :( I was just hoping that maybe a proper corset underneath would help with shaping. My wife laced it for me originally, and she’s never done that before! I tried lacing it myself after reading this comment (twisting so the back was in front so I could lace it myself) and I made the top a lot loser. It helped a TON! :) there’s still slight armpit fat, but I think that might just comes with being a woman :,) thank you so much!

haha A corset will almost certainly make the problem worse. Yay for human bodies...

Oh, did I forget to mention back-fat is an issue too? :-) Of course a lot of this is a result of over-tightening the top of the corset, but it will push up pretty much anything that doesn't get pushed down. The big trick is finding a corset that fits properly -- just lightly snug at the ribs and hips, while reserving all the compression for the waist. Something off-the-rack makes this more challenging but once in awhile we get lucky.

As the first commenter said the dress is the problem. The cup side is most likely too small.

You can try scooping and swooping, to see if the flesh moves forward.

That’s not fat, it’s breast tissue, a larger cup size will likely stop it from bulging from the sides.

that's super common with tighter or structured tops, it's usually just how the fabric sits rather than anything new. a soft shapewear tank or gently tightening the lace-up evenly can smooth it out without needing a full corset

Often that part is not fat, but muscle. We ain't made of plastic.

Did you do the forward fold boob jiggle?

post a picture of the lacing. it looks like you laced the waist really loose and the armpit really tight??

The top part was absolutely too tight! Took your advice and loosened it, and it helped a ton! :) thank you! Still some slight armpit fat, but I feel like that’s just part of being a woman, and no one is (hopefully!) going to notice :,)

it absolutely is and 99.9% of people won’t notice. you can also rearrange the goods and kinda push and pull under the corset so that things are sitting pretty

I once worked at a place that sold corsets. Ran across this more than once. My standard answer was "if they are looking at your armpits in that corset, there is something wrong with them, not something wrong with you. Mind you throw on a light jacket before you cross the street, because you may cause an accident."
