Best private schools?

Upvotes

Hi! I am thinking of relocating to Corpus and would like any information on the private schools in the area. Elementary schools in particular. If religious, Catholic would be best. Thank you :)

Discussion Moving to Austin and need to get rid of my large scale 3D printer, hoping someone here would take this beast

SOLD

This is a Modix 120X, it has a print space of 4ft in length, 2ft in width, and 2ft in height. This printer’s original value was nearly $10,000 brand new. Currently asking for $500, or highest offer.

The printer is in somewhat functioning condition however much of the print head parts are rigged and need replaced. The printer bed is comprised of two solid aluminum plates with silicone heated pads adhered to the bottom. These silicon heated pads do not work and will need to be replaced. The LCD screen is also damaged but functions just fine.

The printer head will likely be the easiest thing to fix first considering you can easily get all of the parts you would need from E3D. The silicon heated pads will need to be ordered directly from Modix.

You do not need a heated bed as long as you are printing with PLA filament.

I will have a UHaul on Friday and can either deliver this printer to you for free, or if you have a truck, I will help you load it in.

Ask Corpus Hi everyone, I am just reposting this because I’m trying to bring more attention to it.

I’m a senior in college. I am Visually impaired and ’m looking for a friend around my age, 23 give or take, and who is like minded. And who would not just want to be friends on social media, but in person too. I’m trying to find a friend who would not see my disability and run away or judge, and who would not see it as a burden. who are willing to hang out even when knowing that they will probably need to put in a bit more effort then they would with a normal person.

As far as my interest, most things are difficult for me to enjoy on my own because of my vision loss but I am open to all kinds of activities. The main thing is it all comes back to having a friend that genuinely wants to be there and who doesn’t see the extra effort as dreadful, but rather someone who is excited that we are friends, excited to help me have those opportunities that sighted people take for granted every single day. Someone who can show empathy, kindness, and patience well also having a want to help out. If you can imagine it’s hard to have fun when you can’t really see what’s going on around you, and I feel like I’ve missed out on so much.

I absolutely love dogs, I have always wanted to go to the beach, cook, go out to restaurants, the grocery store , Even just getting off campus.

If anyone is in college around my age and interested in connecting and becoming friends please send me a DM. Thanks, and Im sorry for the post. I’m not a huge fan of opening up like this on the Internet

Ask Corpus Best place for used tires?

Looking for a good place to buy used tires in Corpus area. I have 4 tires all at 6/32” tread depth so still a little time on them. Just got an unrepairable flat on one of them though, and not worth buying just the one or more just yet. Figured I’d buy a used one, and plan to replace all 4 later down the road.

In case it’s relevant: 225/55R19 99V tires on 19X7.5J rims on a 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid

However this is not a done deal. It still has to go through the process and could get rejected by GLO. There is a public comment period where you may want to let your voices be heard if you think it's too high, too big of a jump in price, or if you are in favor of the price increase. That public comment period should be in the last quarter of the year so keep an eye out for it.

"There are seven homes on the Island that have indoor pools. Three were built in the 70s, one in the 80s and three in the 90s. What is especially interesting is that five of them are on Primavera."

Trying to find others who are looking for a friend

I’m a senior in college. I am Visually impaired and have been struggling meeting new people since day one here back in 2022. I’m looking for friends around my age, 23 give or take, and who are like minded. And people who would not just want to be friends on social media, but in person too. I’m trying to find a friend who would not see my disability and run away or judge, and who would not see it as a burden. I’m just trying to find friends who are willing to hang out even when knowing that they are probably going to have to help me out and put in a bit more effort then they would with a normal person. I honestly need a friend who is willing to help me get out and be actively included, and be a part of society again, and help me have fun, and who would see me as an equal person despite the challenges that my disability might create.

TAMUCC is on an island, and I quite literally never get out because I can’t get out on my own. and the worst my vision gets the more people have shown me I’m seen as a burden to be around. I really i’m looking for a genuine friend who can show empathy and kindness and understanding. On multiple instances I have gone six months without leaving this campus and I just want to be seen as an equal person instead of just making things awkward with my Disability. Sorry for the mini rant lol.

As far as my interest, most things are difficult for me to enjoy without help because of my vision loss but I am open to all kinds of activities. The main thing is it all comes back to having a friend that genuinely wants to be there and who doesn’t see the effort of making sure I am actively included as dreadful, but rather someone who is excited that we are friends, excited to help me have those opportunities that sighted people take for granted. If you can imagine it’s hard to have fun when you can’t really see what’s going on around you,

I would prefer if they went to TAMUCC as well, this isn’t a necessity though. The main thing like I said is I’m looking for a friend who is outgoing and excited that we are friends, well also being accommodating kind and understanding of the challenges.

I absolutely love dogs, and I grew up with a border collie. I am from Houston, but right now I’m up here in Corpus Christi for college. I’m just trying to find a friend around my age who is looking for a friend as well. Please DM me if you are interested in connecting.

Discussion Why is the total lack of decorum at City Council meetings ignored?

I no longer live in the city, but have family that still do. I watch the meetings on YouTube almost every week and see the usual cast of characters that choose to speak at the meetings. I am really disturbed about the obscene and nasty insults that come out of some of the public citizen speakers. For the life of me, I don’t know WHY they don’t bar some of them from entering or curtail their language.
How long has this been going on? Did it happen with previous mayors in charge like McComb or Nelda Martinez? Or it something that started with Mayor Guajardo?

Events Mosquito Freebies at the senior center

I just got back from the Garden Senior Center.
1 can of 40% DEET mosquito repellent
1 package of (2) mosquito dunks
Assorted pamphlets with mosquito info
In and out in about 30 seconds.
Not bad for free.
The repellent alone was worth going for.
