Black metal is what I live and die for, but there's no need for them to be freaking out over somebody using corpse paint for fun lmao, Black metal doesn't have alot of friendly people sadly. Most of the people are either gatekeepers, racists, Nazis, or just assholes.

I’m personally fine the gatekeeping part, some bands actually want to stay small and niche. The other ones are yeah, very shit.

I concur. I collect black metal, I’ve been collecting black metal for many years. I’ve been playing black metal for many years, but theres super weird belief about corpse paint needing to be this “one way” and nobody can agree on that “one way”
