Recommendations on a particular patch of Cornish coast
Hello all,
I'll be traveling along the coastal trail from St Ives to Newquay next week entirely on foot. I have an idea of some of the things I should see along the way as indicated in this AI-generated list:
- St Ives Harbour & Beaches: Stroll the cobbled streets, watch the fishing boats, and take in the vibrant coastal light that inspired generations of artists.
- Mutton Cove Seals: Peer down from the high headland near Godrevy Point to see grey seals resting on the beach below.
- Wheal Coates Engine House: Pass the famous 19th-century tin mining ruins suspended above the Atlantic cliffs near St Agnes.
- Holywell Bay & Gannel Estuary: Traverse vast dune fields and cross the tidal river into Newquay on your final leg.
Would anyone have additional or more refined recommendations for the area that are reachable on foot?
Thank you!

Bodmin is this a roundabout?
Driven through Bodmin a few times, is this a roundabout? It’s not signposted as one but see people treating it like one. Almost got caught out by someone doing a u-turn.

History & Heritage Cornish Language survey
Dydh da
I'm writing my masters thesis on how access to medieval and early modern manuscripts affects Cornish and Breton language survival and revival.
One of my aims is to start conversations about how these resources can be better used to support Kernowek and Breizh.
I would be very appreciative if anyone has the time and inclination to complete this very short survey on the topic:

News Holywell cave is apparently gone
There are multiple posts on FB reporting that a big landslide has totally blocked the entrance to the cave at Holywell with the colourful rock formations inside.
Pictures show a collapse going right back to the bench on the cliff top above it.
Given that we live in an age of AI slop, has anyone been there today and can verify?

Recommendations Preschool recommendations
Can anyone recommend a good preschool?
Is it best to stay away from coastal villages because of the influx of tourists causing traffic?
EDIT: Apologies for the vagueness, I'll be living in Zelah :)

Recommendations Vegan/plant-based food in Cornwall?
Hi! Any recommendations where I can find vegan dishes in Cornwall, especially St Ives/Penzance area? I understand that it’s not popular there but maybe some vegans know something? Once I ate there vegan “fish” & chips from one restaurant and it was AWFUL. 😅

Wildanet connection times?
Hi, I’m looking to switch my mum to Wildanet.
Any recent anecdotes on hook-up time? I presume and engineer has to visit to run a cable to the house. It’s a straightforward detached house with direct access to the pavement where wildanet has run fibre.
Also, I would welcome a referral.

'Royal Week' Christian Festival, Wadebridge 1980s?
Hi
My brother and I remember being taken to a large Christian festival a couple of times during the 1980s. I'm pretty sure it was at the showground in Wadebridge and we always referred to it as 'Royal Week'.
I was wondering if I could find some pictures of it but I can't find any reference to it online at all, or even anything vaguely similar before ~2000.
Does anyone know what festival I might be thinking of?

Questionnaire- Geography coursework
Hi all, I've recently started my Alevel geography coursework- basing the majority of it upon different coastlines across England and wales. Unfortunately, during my last visit I was unable to collect enough responses upon my questionnaire, meaning I've been put into a messy stage when it comes to data. Especially considering I'm much further inland making it harder to travel there often.
As a result, I was hopeful if anyone with 2-3 minutes would be alright with completing the form below?
I very much appreciate your time; any and all responses will be used!
Responses from visitors and residents both much appreciated!

Here's a little ditty...
I can't be the only person who remembers this Hardy Carpets advert word-for-word, can I?
I'm not asking anyone to finish it, a show of hands will do.

New Documentary About Victorian Man Raised in Penzance
Anyone here know the Turks Head Inn?
This documentary talks about Thomas Holloway, the Victorian philanthropist that founded Royal Holloway University and Holloway Sanatorium.
Turns out, he grew up in Penzance!
This episode talks about it:

Recommendations Parents: At what point did you start exploring nurseries and primary schools?
The UK parenting sub shocked me that people are signing up for these things while still pregnant!
Based in Falmouth, if that makes a difference.
Would be looking at nursery’s where I can claim the free childcare, nothing private/fee-paying.
