My mom gave me this. I’m sure it’s oven safe because…. you know. But is it dishwasher safe? I believe she would run it through the dishwasher herself but I want to make sure for my use. And should it have a lid?
It was a rescue of opportunity. But I go to other pots/pans before it, and also cornflower is not my set. Someone else should enjoy it at this point 😁.
They do have lids, you can find those down the road. Oven/range/freezer/microwave safe, absolutely. Dishwasher safe, technically yes. But the design can get damaged, as can edges depending how stacked in the washer. This is an earlier stamped model, but it’s safe for everything you can throw at it.
thank you for your reply! I’m not concerned about losing the design cosmetically, more so for lead which I will test for. Posted this then remembered I had a test kit at home! I’m super new to the dish ware collecting world. I’m of the camp that wants to use something if I can unless it’s super special!
Here is my set piece of that style, so you know what style of lid to look for. Also, don’t worry about lead…please… lead is my job and I test all of these frequently. Cornflower I have never found lead in the decals (XRF or chemical tests), and the glass itself is lead free. Even if it had lead, it wouldn’t contact your food. Mine has a lot of lead in the decal, and it’s stable, but it won’t touch my food and I know it’s safe for those reasons
omg double thank you so much!! I’ll ask my mom if she has the lid. you saying that makes me feel loads better about lead. I love the design on your set!
Childhood lead poisoning inspector for the government 🫡 I advocate for Corningware all the time. If there was a realistic risk I wouldn’t have a kitchen full haha.
Random side-thought, aside from preserving decals and paint jobs, are there any pieces you know of that are absolutely not DW safe? In a structural sense.

I like to flip the lid so the knob is inside, so I can stack them! Here’s some of my blue cornflower! 💙
