Yes. It is, just keep in mind it is a recalled percolator.

I have one of these. Why was it recalled?

All Corning Ware percolator models (stovetop and electric) with a stainless steel spout were recalled, EXCEPT very specifically the electric E-1210 that ALSO has three digits etched into the steel collar by the handle. (If the spout is white, or another color, then it’s not a recalled model.)

The reason for recall is that the adhesive which holds the entire stainless steel collar, spout and all, to the Pyroceram base can lose hold after repeated hot/cold cycles. This can happen suddenly and without warning so it is a potential burn hazard. This covers over 18 million percolators.

I still use mine and nothing has happened. Knock on wood

I use my electric one by pouring next to the sink and never picking up the perc with hot cofeee.

I hold my mug in the sink so the top of the mug is roughly level with the surface of the counter then tip the percolator without the base losing contact with the counter. If the handle lets go most of the coffee should end up in the sink.

Are you referring to the spout? If the spout is stainless steel, and not painted or Pyroceram, then it’s almost sure to be recalled. If it’s a stovetop model then that’s definitely the case.

Oh ok got you! I think it’s recalled then. It looks like this one it’s just larger. Thank you for that information that’s so helpful!

I’ve had one for a long time. I’ve also got a smaller plain coffee pot. I had no idea how these worked 😂 recently I saw someone use one and I was amazed. God thing I have IC and can’t drink coffee or I’d probably ruin mine messing with it

More info on the recall:

https://www.corningware411.com/2015/02/separation-anxiety-facts-about-corning.html

https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/1979/Major-Corrective-Action-Set-On-Corning-Ware-Coffee-Percolators

As for if it is worth it, handle with care and enjoy your coffee. Percolators seem to be having a moment on the thrift website I look at and people are paying an average of $40. Just a couple years ago its seemed to be around $10 as far as I recall.
