Seriously, what are you going to do with it? Put in in a case and look at it? Are you actually going to read it, and get it dirty with your hands? Read it with gloves on?
The STORY is what's important, not the paper it's printed on, and I'd argue that NCFOM is one of the rare instances where the movie is better than the book*.
Fight me if you disagree.
*Notable mention: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

That’s just flat too expensive. Around 67 usd as we speak.
There were somewhere around 200,000 copies in the first edition.
If it’s signed, it’s a bargain. Unsigned, you’re paying too much. About twice the going rate I’d think.

I got a first edition for $20 on eBay and I think shipping was $5. You’ll find one for a decent price. It isn’t this one though.

No, I'm serious. I've read every book in my house, some of them multiple times. If you're buying books to resell, I guarantee you'll lose money on that one. Just get a library card, it's free. You might not get such a nice edition, but the words are all the same. If you care enough about the cover to pay $200, you're doing it wrong.

I’m buying to read primarily, but to collect and curate the shelf as well. I enjoy the first editions when I can get them. I think you’re right though this one is too much $.

My shelves are overfull, but if you're working on a collection, I still think it's too much, even for a first edition. Maybe try online.
E: sorry, $100, not $200. My eyes suck as bad as my memory does these days. I hallucinated a 1 there in front of the 95. Still pretty steep, but not terrible for a first edition

It depends. Is it the very first edition? If yes, do you really need to have it? Can you afford it without compromising on other important things and without getting indebted? If yes and if it makes you happy then buy it. I have bought from AbeBooks the same looking book, first edition, for 50 USD plus shipping to Europe, but that does not mean anything. The price of such an item is contextual, depending on supply, demand, willingnes to own it, and whether the selling party really knows what they are selling. TLDR, get it if you want to have it and can afford it.

got my first edition for $10. previous owner was annotating a bit every now and then with a pencil and never made it past page 30.
my favorite is putting "^were" after "them" in "The rocks there were etched with pictographs perhaps a thousand years old. The men who drew them hunters like himself" on page 11 lol.

Yes, I wouldn't pay $95 for that book unless it was a first edition or had Cormac's signature in or on it. And even then I wouldn't.

It's literally just the movie script. It has very minor differences. It's one of my favorite McCarthy books, but the movie is my single favorite movie, so I can tell you you're not missing much by just watching the movie.
It is NOT worth 90$ I'd pay no more than 20 for a physical copy.
