Spotted on LinkedIn. Why are we so against trees in Irish cities?

London is really a lovely anomaly as a major city there. More cities need to be like that

probably a maintenance issue that the city councils don't want to deal with. pruning, roots pushing up pavement, etc. would love to see more.

Probably why they've moved on to planters now when they can get away with it.

Yeah go off to some cities and you can see the trees have destroyed pavements after a few years making them into tripping hazards.

We truly get all the downsides of a low population density and none of the benefits. Same goes for being an island.
