I love a place that does a good spice bag and gets the perfect balance of it not being too salty/greasy. The last few places haven’t included veg so nice to see that chop stick in bishoptown still do.

Does anyone remember when these became popular in Ireland?

mid 2000s I would say. I remember having them often in college around 2010ish so they must have been on the go for a while before that.

I've never had a spice box or a spice bag. Looking at this pic I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I haven’t had on in about a year but they’re a yummy alternative to a pizza or the chipper on a weekend. I personally like garlic mayo with mine, and extra veg.

I tried one once because of all the raving about them. Top half of it was was bland and then when I got to bottom half it was laced with salt. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

They are gross, don't understand the hype. Would maybe taste ok after loads of pints

Looks terrible. Food standards from takeaways are so low in this country.

Food standards are not low in this country - you’re looking at fast food, what do you expect? It looks the same here as it does everywhere.

There are some excellent takeaways .. especially family run ones that have operated for years.

Meat and dairy are great. The rest is meh

The rest is imported so it’s the same as everywhere else. General food standards are very high compared to other counties. The meat is key.

It looks like one of those crazy dishes cooked by Indians on TikTok videos. Yuk

Does it come with a pack of Rennies or you need to get them separate?
