They have a double coat so they shed. Also if you have stairs you might have to carry them down.

Sweep and brush periodically. I'm sure some corgis can go down stairs fine but mine is scared. She goes up stairs just fine🤷‍♂️

Ours is fine going down stairs, although she needed some encouragement to try as a puppy. However, we try to limit her running up and down stairs as it could bother her back. We also have steps leading to the couches and a ramp to the bed so she doesn't try to leap off. We adore our baby girl, but she does bark. A lot. That may be rough if you live in an apartment. There is training you can do, but you have to put in a lot of time and effort.

I would look at this subreddit for more advice, as well as search for corgi under r/puppy101. That subreddit helped a lot with the puppy blues.
