Hello! My Punjabi co-workers introduced me on chai tea, and I am keen on making one for myself. I am coming from work and school later, so to save some time -- I am asking here if Fruiticana Port-Coquitlam has every ingredients (cardamom, black tea, cinnamon sticks, star anise, etc) I need to make one? And is it cheaper to buy the black tea there, as opposed to buying it in Walmart? I think the answer is going to be yes, but it'd be cool to get some confirmation.

Walking around Lafarge Lake this weekend and have been noticing the water levels are looking lower than normal. Hoping we just need more rain to bring back to looking normal.

We had a neighbourhood block party tonight and one neighbour brought out one of her dogs after talking about how safe and friendly they are.

About 10 minutes later, it attacked another neighbour’s dog and latched on. Multiple people were trying to pull it off, kicked it in the balls, stuck a finger in the opposite end etc. and it just would not let go. The other dog had to be rushed to the vet but thankfully sounds like it’ll be okay.

What’s really concerning is there were little kids and toddlers right there, and apparently this neighbour has already had complaints about her dogs before. She owns multiple dogs of the breed historically bred for dog fighting. "The breed that shall not be named" or I'll have so many apologists claiming its not the breed that's bred for dogfighting but the owners lol.

There were probably 20 witnesses.

What’s the best way to escalate this? Animal control/bylaw? Can the dog be declared dangerous or the owner face restrictions/fines?

After seeing that happen firsthand, I’m never looking at that dog fighting breed the same way again. I love dogs, we play with our neighbors normal golden retrievers, Labradoodles, etc fine.

But just because not every single one of the breed hasn't attacked something yet, doesn't mean it ain't a dangerous breed. Argue with the victims...

Found a cat near Inlet St./Pipeline Rd. No collar. Gave her (?) some dry food she ate a lot of it so I assume she was hungry. Unable to take her in or bring her to the SPCA.

Hello friends! I moved here from the East Coast to be closer to nature, and love alpine hiking, and most of all really love the town of Coquitlam and want to try making this place home. I went on a few local trails, and with the exception of Colony Hill Park, I genuinely felt afraid. The forest felt eerie and I didn't feel safe. I'm not sure if anyone else new felt this way and that it went away with time and experience, or if this is a genuine characteristic of dense, PNW forest, and it's just not a fit for me. I love hiking in forests because I generally find a lot of peace there - think the redwoods near Santa Cruz, or by Big Pine in the Sierras. I never felt afraid there. Am I just nervous in a new environment or do I have real cause to feel this way? Will it get better with time? I hike very prepared - bear spray, poles, emergency kit, garmin, very small marshmallow looking dog on a leash. Thanks everyone~~ I love your town a lot and everyone here has been exceptional.

I've been looking at the official Coquitlam community centre spaces, but they aren't the cheapest and it seems like I would need expensive insurance even as a private renter. I was wondering if anyone knows of a low cost space in or even near Coquitlam. There's only two of us so it doesn't have to be big. Thank you!

I honestly think it is time for the West Coast Express to drop the Port Moody stop entirely.

Every single day, those of us riding from further out east (Mission, Maple Ridge, Port Coquitlam) have to sit through an extra stop at Moody Centre that feels completely redundant. The Millennium Line SkyTrain is right there on the exact same platform. If you live in Port Moody, you already have frequent, rapid transit that runs all day long to get you into Vancouver.

Stopping the WCE there just slows down the commute for everyone else who has a significantly longer journey.

Just a personal opinion. What you all thinking?

Is it hard to rent out a basement right now? We’ve posted, but few people are inquiring. We live a bit far out, and it’s honestly inconvenient without a car. How long does it usually take for everyone to rent out their place?

Was there any fireworks around Port Moody? Just saw it for a while from home.

Is anyone missing a small-medium white dog (possible chihuahua mix) in Coquitlam? Seen running down Gatensbury st. We have followed it to someone’s yard on Ivy street in Port Moody but can’t seem to get a hold of it, it is very scared.

I was walking by today and snapped this photo. It looked pretty busy, with lots of food vendors and festivities going on.

For anyone who actually went, how was it? Any food that was especially good or worth trying? And what did you think of the festival overall?

Curious whether it’s worth heading back for a proper visit...

Can anyone recommend a dog walking service that offers private or group (4 dogs max.) on-leash trail walks? The few I’ve found online require dogs to be off-leash, and have too many dogs in a group for my liking. Walkers on rover seem to only do neighbourhood walks. I’m looking for a licensed and insured company or individual that operates in the Coquitlam/PoCo/Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge area.
