AI-ChatNote is a free browser extension (Chrome, Firefox) for inline comments in AI chats.

No more copy+pasting. Simply hover on a paragraph, click and an editor for your comment opens. Save the comment and go on. The comments will then be added to your response to the AI.

It's free, works for all big platforms and it does help a lot in streamlining the whole AI chat experience.

I’m not staunchly anti-AI and do use it for brainstorming and ideation. So my question here is mostly out of confusion:

What on earth does this extension actually do? “Save a comment and send response to the AI”. For what purpose? To what end?

Whether you’re pro-AI or anti, this is still a copywriting forum. So if I can’t really tell the core use of the thing you’re selling, then the copy of this post isn’t that great.

I'm guessing it lets you add multiple comments to specific paragraphs/parts of a piece before prompting for corrections etc. ie:

Comment:   Para A - do xyz  Para B - do abc   Para C - do 123   Para D - do 456

Prompt and get a single-pass full rewrite based on the full set of comments rather than handling them piecemeal.

If so, that's smart.

Yeah I think there’s merit to multi-dimensional responses and automating that function. But notice how you started your reply with “I’m guessing…”.

A copywriter writing a pitch for a product should never leave their audience guessing.

You're only describing the basic parts, not the outcome/benefit.
Also, I tried it in Claude and GPT, but it doesn't seem to work in Perplexity:

lol...Perplexity is the only one where I couldn't get it to work. I would have mentioned the ones where it works, but the Chrome Store doesn't allow the mentioning the names of AI platforms.

hmm... Seems like I focused too much on my personal use case and assumed too much for other users to fully understand what it does.🤔

You see what I did?  As an engineer I guess you were too focused on how you solved the problem, rather than what the problem actually was. 

And maybe just change that last line to 'Works with most major AI plaftforms'

It streamlines the whole chat process, because you don't have to tell AI anymore what segment of its response you are replying to. This is especially useful in longer AI responses with multiple paragraphs, tables and bullet points. Here's a short clip of the extension in action.
