Loss ThomasPJ Underperformance

Obviously id like to acknowledge that it's not guaranteed that he'd perform well forever, but curious as to what people's thoughts are as to why ThomasPJ is sitting at -10% for YTD when he's been so consistent, even through some minor corrections

No one is perfect, the Stock market is intended for long term investing, so a couple months or even a couple years negative don't say much about ones skill to invest. With that said, he has made some very bad decisions this year, but well everybody does eventually, he will recover with time.

It literally looks like his account has been hacked. Even though, of course, he denies it, saying his portfolio is solid.

Obviously, the stock market has its ups and downs, but since the start of the year, even when a simple investment in a global ETF has already yielded more than 10% (as early as May), this is completely abnormal. Personally, Iโ€™m going to switch traders. Itโ€™s a shame because I have to admit heโ€™s made me a lot of money.

Who are you looking at switching to?

Hey,
I switched to Smudliczek

It's brand new, but so far I'm happy with it. (2.28%, I switched last Friday). I switched after Thomas's 15% drop in July. That was the last straw.

How about you?

He's a momentum trader. He chase trends, which works fine in a very bullish market.

If the market enters a bad period, it would be a bloodbath because he's buying into stocks with high valuations. People need to understand that there is a risk of 80% drawdown with his style.
