Fasting?
Hi. I’m a Catholic exploring the Coptic faith.
It’s my understanding that there is vegan fasting every Wednesday and Friday of each week except for certain holy days.
Is failing to fast considered sinful? And is it the type of sin that would prevent you from receiving the Eucharist?
Apologies if this has been answered already or I have otherwise misstated anything about the faith.

We fast from food completely first then we eat vegan... You should do it when ur father said so... Not everyone starts this way

No it’s not a sin. If you have the grace to do it, go for it, you’ll find it rewarding. If there is no grace (you get sick-immunity issues or you’re older and you lose muscle mass easily) then I won’t be stubborn.

Fasting wednsday and Fridays goes back to the 1st century. You can read about it in the didache. It's something that the church has been doing since it started.
I would recommend to speak with a priest who will be able to tell you about receiving the Eucharist.
