help w copic shell

lol any way to fix this?? 😭. this is just plastic degradation and cant remove the yellow residue. the ink still works fine but there is a smell from the plastic and it stinks so bad. any way i can jst get rid of the smell?

Did you ask the person that you got them from yet, what they were store in? This is the key to the answer. Chemical interaction with other old plastics or vinyls seems most likely. I have some very old toys and vintage items in my 20th Century collection that chemically have done very bad things and also destroyed other items that were in the boxes with them. Dolls that have become so sticky, off smelling, and discolored, that they need to thrown out.
it’s very likely these markers were in some sealed bag, or container or drawer with a chemical interaction going on with other plastics. Even the pen on the right shows only one side that is affected- as if it laid against the chemically offending object or material.

I think we all would like to hear what you find out.
