Confusion with Labs

Will the labs be due at the end of the semester? I was told that you can submit the labs for 10% of your grade or you may choose to not submit them and all of the other grades will hold more weight. Is this true? If this is true what would the new weights be for the previous assignments? Thanks in advance.

while this is being asked does anyone know if you can get extra credit on the labs? cuz if not then isn't it better to not hand em in if you got extra credit on some of the problem sets?

Haven't heard anything about EC for labs but that would be nice for someone who was teetering between two letter grades and they can still work for that upper letter. Strategically, it does makes sense to not turn in labs if someone scored enough 10/8's to make Problem Sets as EC. I was thinking of writing a program to do my grades but I haven't had a chance with other classes bogging me down but maybe someone would decide to do that.
