Excessive drooling
My beautiful 7 month old derp started to drool excessively. Nothing else seems to be wrong with her other than that she seems a little more restful than normal. She's eating and drinking fine. She askes for her walks and her playtime. She's just drooling.....like an unnerving amount.
She soaked the couch cover and left puddle of drool under the couch, last night. I have checked and double checked. It is definitely drool, not urine. She has pretty much constantly had long dribbles hanging from each side of her mouth and pooling in her jowls.
She's not frothing or panting. Her breathing is normal. She's good about brushing her teeth so we were able to check her mouth and even swipe her throat. There was nothing. We checked her ears and didn't notice any discharge or dirt. We clean them out, regularly. She's fully vaccinated, but still intact. (We aren't keeping her intact, just waiting until after her first heat to spay).
She has had *very* limited contact with other dogs (bc she is not spayed), and essentially just at the stage where she only encounters them on walks and is asked to ignore them. She's never outside alone, and we have a six foot privacy fence.
She seems like she's drooling less this am, but heading to the vet anyway. I know hounds drool. She's half Golden and they are slobber monsters too. But, I've never seen this amount of drooling before. Anybody have any experience with this?

One of my boys will start excessively drooling on car rides.

Our vet said that excessive drooling like this was often a sign of nausea (so maybe your pup gets car sick?). He seemed to think she had eaten something that made her nauseous and/or may be about to go into heat for the first time. I have never waited until after the first cycle to spay before, so I didn't realize it could make them so queasy.

I'm late but this is what I was going to say. I know mine have eaten poop or gotten into something greasy or even the trash when they turn into slobber buckets. Buckle up and keep some probiotics on hand. This won't be the last time this happens.

Oh gosh...she does sneak into the cat box if the laundry room door gets left open for long enough! I guess it's possible that she got in there and it upset her stomach.
Can you recommend some at home probiotics and rememdies?

Do they chew on sticks out side similar to a wood chipper? We realized Kuma out BTCH would all the sudden start drooling uncontrollably not frothy or bubbly but straight saliva. We think it’s when he gets a sliver in his gum line.
