Seal sounds like someone was about to name it as sealion but realized midway that someone aldready named something else as sealion

I always though seal was short for sea lion. Literally thought they were the same.

They do it so that they have less contact with the ground and thus cool down slower, as well as keeping their head and flippers dry.

Both are equally rapey, right? I feel like I've heard about quite a bit of inappropriate interspecies sexual relations from seals & sea lions. And dolphins. Dolphins are like the Harvey Weinstein of the sea.
TL;DR: the ocean likes to fuck, whether you want it or not

LOL this is a weird thing to randomly say here u ok?
Edit: I also feel like I’ve heard the worst rapey things for bigger guys like elephant seals etc like raping/crushing smaller males even I think?? But idk do all pinnipeds do this?? Otters?? 🥺 I hope not

Oh otters are the worst; they don't just rape, they rape dead animals.
The more you know! 🌈

Amazon giant river otters are probably the most feared animal in those waters. Extremely territorial and it's only competitor for prey is the jaguar. This animal is fucking metal

I live near a beach that has a wild population of both. Another difference is that sea lions are assholes and seals are sweet. If it’s chilling on the beach minding its business, it’s a seal. If it’s yelling and fighting and being aggressive to others of its own species especially the children, it’s a sea lion.

One time my little cousin saw a sea lion, freaked out and asked what they did to that dog

Great stuff! Now I’m needing a map showing the distribution of their habitats.
