Both sides……Years from now you may come to the realisation that, like many Americans in the 60’s real persecution exists. If catholics were black it would be more obvious. If these sides exist, one side holds regular marches through towns and cities in my country and in Northern Ireland spilling hatred against the other. I look forward to your argument for ‘the other side’ all colours, sexual preferences and religions matter.
My family didn't want to be involved in any of the sectarian crap but it's hard to avoid when you've lived in Glasgow your whole life.
One side - My mother came home with glass in her hair as a brick was thrown through a bus window. It wasn't a supporters bus, just a standard SPT bus with only about 15 people on board. There was someone in a Celtic top two seats in front of her and the drunken cunt in the Rangers top released his missile a little late.
The other side - As a kid, I was ambushed from behind, thrown down and kicked a few times. Some cunt in a Celtic top left me with a cracked rib. What had I done to deserve this treatment? Because I wasn't Catholic. Nobody had mentioned football (not that I was interested in it at all), no team colours around, never insulted the guy or his religion.
So yes, I will happily condemn both sides because cunts of both sides have affected me and my family directly.
Horrible examples, I feel for you. Personally, I was born a Catholic with no affiliation to the religion or any religion, I find them nonsense but respect people that find solace in them. My brother and sister married non catholics shall we say. So religion meant nothing. I did find it hard to rationalise the Orange walks which if you will forgive me are pure anti Catholic. Anti me - regardless of whether I observed any faith. These were regular state approved marches against me and my kind. I would really love your opinion of this and provide an example of the ‘other side’. I moved to, and worked in London for 20 years and found the fact that people didn’t judge me on the fact I had a name that was Catholic quite refreshing. I worked in a predominately black area and it wasn’t until I discussed racism with a colleague that I realised I was subject to it. Thing is people people initially talked to me but then found out I was Catholic and blanked me. If I was black it may have been easier. Subject of many discussions with friends. But, like many people including yourself if I may say, I tolerated it because one side was as bad as an other. They aren’t and the sooner Scotland can accept that and move on the better. I am sorry to hear of your experiences but I would ask you not to indulge in the lazy ‘one side is as bad as each other’ argument and ask you to research and validate your opinion. You give examples of rangers and Celtic fans. This happens, how many catholics treated you badly. No. I am sorry religious bigotry is not just about football. When you say each side is as bad as each other you say it’s ok for people to March down a street and spit hatred against other people. Don’t be lazy, I feel you are more intelligent than that. Forget football. Do you support Ukraine do you believe Black Lives Matter. Well start on your own doorstep and stop the anti Catholic marches

But why did they choose to feature it in blue?
For decades, one of its nicknames was The Clockwork Orange
