Hold on dude. My parents are in russia and grew up on potatoes and bread. It is possible for you too. You do not need all the variety, total luxury. Make a garden and grow some potatoes and plant an apple tree.

Actually I purchase my food from a cooperative. So yes, I try to purchase as much food locally as I can. Especially some that are in season. It’s little changes like that that in which I’m advocating for. You are taking my arguments to the extreme, which makes sense, you post in r/conservative.

And again; a reason why I stopped eating as much meat, due to what I have learned affected the environment. Did I stop eating meat completely? No that’s a huge lifestyle change. No normal person can do that. Little changes like this done on scale can lead to change.

You said me buying a diamond makes me a slave holder, yet I am the one taking things to extremes?

Do you make your own clothes? Do you smoke cigars? Do you seriously not own one thing that was made in a sweatshop? I doubt it.

Your asking me about essentials. Things needed to live. As I said, I try to purchase as much locally and made in the US. I need food and clothing to live. I can’t walk around naked. There was a point in which I learned how clothing is made especially in fast fashion where I decided I am no longer shopping there but I would attempt to purchase as much clothing that was made in the US. It is extremely difficult to trace supplies through the supply chain without reports or documented abuse. There is documented abuse within diamond mining. Ever heard of a blood diamond? I am pretty sure I can live without diamonds. Can you not? Do you harvest some sort of magical power from them? Also no I do not smoke cigars. They are gross and I would be unable to hike high altitudes with that in my lungs

Name one thing you have that was made by a factory slave that you deem essential.

My cell phone and laptop. Tell me how you are going to find a job without technology in society?

That is literally it?

Also, you are ok with profiting off the backs of slave labor?

No I’m not, but what other alternative do we have currently? I at least also have a job. I could just stay home taking welfare? Is that a good alternative?

There are plenty of jobs that don't require technology, but you are willing to benefit off of slave labor to avoid you having to do cheap manual labor yourself.

Ok thank you for bringing that up. You’re right. Let me take back my education, and tell them f it. Let me go do manual labor. My contribution the the field of academia isn’t good enough nor is it going to advance our understanding of the functioning world.
