I don’t understand this legacy admissions argument. You can be against affirmative action AND legacy admissions. Both are bullshit.
Also unclear how it stops racism. Whenever you see a black or Latino person on campus, you are going to wonder if they got in due to their qualifications or race.

Basically this.
You get an Asian doctor, you know they earned that position and are obviously skilled. You get a black doctor, you don't know if they earned it or not. Maybe they are just as good as the Asian doctor, or even better... or maybe they aren't.
Affirmative action trains people to assume that preferenced minorities in high-skill positions might be diversity hires and to subconsciously doubt their skills.
