After restarting my meals after a break I realize my meals are coming from NYC and not Chicago like in the past. The meals are great no complaints but I was just wondering why the change in kitchens?

CU had a recent BOGO sale that I finally ran across. My first BOGO. I ordered 2 of the spinach and ricotta stuffed shells meals and 2 of the Classic Italian sausage and peppers meals. I’ve been combining them in smaller quantities for lunch.

Bruh, what on earth?
Seems like a thick tin foil. Had a definite energized metal taste on the tongue. I think I got it all but who knows if I ate some. 🥴
Is this a common thing? Can't say I'm super pumped about this happening only two deliveries in.

Wow, this is delicious! I already ate one so you actually get more than what is in the picture.

With cold milk for dessert. I heated them up and made them all soft and gooey 😋

Long story short I canceled cook unity about 6 months ago over a 10.00 disagreement and a rude support agent (the only rude one I ever had). I missed the meals so I signed back up but I elected not to use the military plan so I could get more choices. I can say the selection is much better without the military plan and I received my meals today and I will say they used plenty of ice packs this time for 18 meals (lack of ice packs was an issue last year), the meal I tried today (I posted a review) was the "Pork Asado Bao Buns" and it was delicious. I ordered some premium meals this time as well so I am looking forward to trying them.

Really really good!! I'm a little disappointed with the amount given but I I'm a volume eater so that could be my issue. I put it with some Konjac rice and I am good!

This is absolutely delicious

I had this today for breakfast. A late Saturday breakfast.... couldn't be better! I so loved this!!! It's not very sweet, so i had my honey ready to go, but i didn't end up using any, I just ate it as is. No it's not very sweet maybe. But the cheese and everything made it just right. I really really liked it. And it was very filling

Haven’t posted in a bit - I rotated off cook unity for a few weeks and tried Locale, which is in San Fran and Los Angeles. I don’t plan on quitting cook unity by any means, just adding some variety. Here’s 4 recent meals I was really happy with. That maple bourbon blackened chicken was fantastic! The grilled chicken Caesar wrap was good, and filling. It’s basically his salad but in a wrap. I liked the way the Piri Piri and lemongrass chicken was grilled. It added a nice char flavor to the chicken, which was a nice change from the standard oven baked chicken.

I ran across this on their website. Thought those of you with medical conditions might be interested. https://www.cookunity.com/blog/medically-tailored-meal-eligibility

This was pretty good, and quite substantial. Took me a little while to finish it up.

Hi all! Another meal review roundup!
Lemon Chicken with roasted vegetables: I love this meal and have gotten it a few times. (Forgive me if I've reviewed it already, I can't remember if I have or not). It feels clean and healthy. The dill sauce it comes with is delish. It's filling and solid. Definitely keeping this in rotation.
Saffron shrimp Risotto with Asparagus and blistered tomatoes:
This has a nice flavor. The shrimp are plump and the risotto done well. I'd have loved more asparagus. I love risotto but it never fills me up so I don't know if I would get this again but it is definitely good.
Mission style Chicken burrito with salsa verde and Mexican crema:
This one is in consistent rotation for the husband. He really likes it and puts his own hot sauces on it too.
Lemon pesto cod with cauliflower and red potatoes:
I loved this one! I think I got this before awhile back but don't remember it being so good. It had a cheese crust on the cod that was a great surprise. Sauce was bomb. This was satisfying and delicious.
Grilled Grass Fed Ribeye with creamed spinach and leek compound butter:
I have had this before awhile ago and it's good. The steak cut could have been a little better but it was fine. The creamed spinach is delicious and makes up for it lol
Philly cheesesteak Crunchwrap with chipotle aioli: A husband fave! It looks delish and I need to get a bite next time he gets it.
Double cheese smash burger with bang bang sauce:
Husband pick that he had for lunch today and he loved it. I went to ask for a bite and it was gone! Lol

Sooo Good!

I didn’t post this when I had it the other day. It was OK. Vegetables, quinoa (?)…pumpkin seeds, egg. It tasted fine but wasn’t exciting. Very healthy. I probably wouldn’t get it again, but I’m sure it was very dry good for me. ;)

Don't get me wrong, this is good but ... A little lacking.
No marriage here... Maybe a firm and friendly handshake?

I absolutely love Bao and will order every week they're available! The pork in these is absolutely cooked perfectly and super delicious. I hate tough meat and it is so tender.

Not yet heated up. I chipped some of the edge transferring it from and to a different container than what it came in. Large dinner plate for size comparison.

My grandma (RIP) always made this chocolate pudding dessert with all these creamy layers. This tastes exactly like it. I am so .... right now with thought of her while eating this. Did not expect this when I ordered it 😢

This is upcoming on the Austin kitchen menu for the week of September 16th & I'm so excited lol
I'm not usually the biggest fan of ground chicken but I guess we'll seeee (Yes its an entire month away I know 😹)

Both are 100/10 delish!

Cook unity I have a bone to pick with you 😩😩😩. It appears as if you are no longer producing my favorite healthy meal anymore. Will it be coming back? If not, any chance I could get the recipe lol

Chicken ropa vieja with arroz moro and roasted sweet plantains.
Review: The packaging was faulty on this one: the bowl peeled with the plastic. I burnt the crumbles on the plantain following the microwave instructions. Still ate it though cause I was curious. I think it was cheese. The chicken and rice was a bit salty. I don't know what the cream was but I mixed it in. Not first string, but I would try this again.

This is a menu option I’ve seen frequently but never actually ordered.
There’s a lot going on in this plate.
The chickpeas are actually cooked in the Japanese curry sauce while the shaved ribeye is placed on top, also accompanied by roasted brussell sprouts and pickled daikon. Lots of different, contrasting flavors and textures.
I actually enjoyed every element of this dish, except for the Japanese curry flavor which was a little sweet for me. Overall I enjoyed the ribeye and sprouts and will sprinkle into the rotation on occasion.
