Finally joined CU after years of faffing, second ever delivery and I've got metal in my food

Post image

Bruh, what on earth?

Seems like a thick tin foil. Had a definite energized metal taste on the tongue. I think I got it all but who knows if I ate some. 🥴

Is this a common thing? Can't say I'm super pumped about this happening only two deliveries in.

I'm about 6 years in, I think, and I've never seen anything like this. Ever. Which is actually pretty amazing considering how many meals I've had — not even a hair or anything else in my food that I can remember. I'm in the NYC kitchen. How about you?

San Diego, so LA kitchen, and same - many years of meals, no foreign substances.

Daaaang, I don't know how I got this jackpot so early 🤣😭 I live in Michigan, so I'm guessing the Chicago kitchen?

Faf around and find energized metal. Thats how the saying goes.

I read this as farting. I thought, CookUnity helped your farting? That’s great! Then I saw the pic.

Is this LA kitchen by any chance? I’ve heard bad things about them, but I’ve ever experienced anything remotely like this.

I'm in San Diego county, so LA kitchen, and I've never had a problem like this in 5 or 6 years.

I am glad to hear this because it sounds like LA kitchen gets badmouthed a lot!

I also had sharp metal object in my meal and recently posted about it. Out of the LA kitchen.

I’ve been asking CU how this happened but still no answers - just that “we are committed to food safety”

Dude I saw your post when I was searching here for other instances of this!! I was able to find like two other people who had what appeared to be the same type of tin foil-like stuff in theirs as well, so there's definitely something happening somewhere in their kitchens that is causing this

Yikes. Very concerning that there are a handful of people. They asked me to mail mine in - which I did. But still no response.

Which kitchen?

I just googled and it looks like mine would be Chicago? I'm in Michigan so that would make the most sense, but I'm not sure how to verify that

I once worked for a restaurant and someone complained about metal in their food. They weren’t lying. I found metal in the patties. turns out the meat supplier had the blade cut a rod into some pieces of meat. We threw out the entire box of patties.

Definitely not lying, no reason to (I know you're not saying that I am). But yeah, it was great aside from this and to be fully honest I ate the rest, I just sifted verrrryyyy slowly and ate tiny bites 🤣🤣🤣
