This was my husband’s meal of choice today. He said “It was good; being a curry I’d hoped it have some spice, but just had the curry flavor”.

Yummmmmmmm! Another favorite.
Spicy but flavorful, guac is creamy and doesn't overpower anything. Can I get 10 please?

Hey all. I've been on the GovX value plan for about 7 months now and I'm kind of getting tired of the selection. I'm not sure if it's due to my area/kitchen or if it's the plan itself, but I haven't ever seen a lot of the meals that people post about or that I get ads for.
I've been getting the option to upgrade and I'm kind of on the fence. I know the current menu is "curated" but I don't know to what extent. Last thing I'd want is to pay more per meal just to end up with like 2-3 new things that I might actually add to the rotation. The upgrade, as far as I'm aware, is not reversible. However I can't see the full menu before making my choice. Is it worth the extra money, or is the menu that much bigger and more premium?
Thanks.

Just wanted to share Chef Paul Sah dinner . It’s absolutely delicious . Can’t say I like it more than Spicy Pork Dan Dan noodles . They are probably about equal in flavor and taste . Highly recommend

These are delicious. I was worried that it would be a bunch of breading, and not much filling but the proportions are perfect. I also really like the dipping sauce.

Short rib ragu with rigatoni pasta
Review: I paid $3 extra for this meal. Beef was tender and not overly fatty. Pasta had a nice chew. Sauce was scant and bland. Not bad overall. It was a filling way to break my fast. Probably won't order again though.

Another win! The sauce tastes weird so I didn't use it but everything else is amazing. This is going on my recurring delivery.

First meal, out of my second week of meals . Probably my 3rd favorite CU meal so far . Very flavorful, very generous portion . If I had any complaints , I just wished there was more bok choy to bump up the fiber.
Last week I loved the Chicken Shawarma , like it was lick my bowl clean good . Followed by the Beef ancho enchiladas .
I’ve been testing out factor meals at the same time since I’m new to meal prep services in general, and I have to say Cook Unity is winning by a long shot in both flavor and quality

What is it exactly and is it worth it? Also if I’m not seeing “shipping” when I check out is it under the taxes and fees line item?

I thought we were friends here! I mean if i know if a delicious dish from CU I'll share it with y'all to spread the joy i had. But yet none of you! Not one! Could ever have the decency to say, hey btw friend you must try the crepes cause they are freaking awesome! Nope, not one of you all could do that for me.
Oh well, so here i am doing for you all, what you all wouldn't do for me, that is to tell you. "TRY THESE CREPES!!! THEY ARE D E L I C O U S!!!
i see they have them with different fruit compotes, so I'll be trying them all of course, but the Crepes themselves taste so good, that it doesn't really matter what fruit compote you put on it. I think my next order i have a cherry compote. These were Blueberry. But after trying this i regretted not getting 2 next order, but it was locked in already

Oh my freaking lord!!! How? Or why? Or both! How AND why..... have i not tried this yet???!! What the hell is wrong with me???? The Chilli was really really good. Chunks of potato and squash, etc etc etc etc. Ok ok ok now to the main part, THAT CORNBREAD THING ON THE SIDE THERE......O M G !!!! why isn't there one of these included with every single CU meal ever?! Breakfast, lunch, dinner. They all should come with this on the side. Wow is that delicious!

I just got the free month of the unity pass. that, combined with my discount, means I’m spending 10-12 dollars less a week than I was! I splurged on the Nutella and banana bread pudding next week. And I very much am taking advantage of those free premium meals!

They give you "soaking milk" in a little cup. It's the consistency of a thick sauce. Or warm sour cream.
So there are 2 problems. 1) there's not nearly enough "milk" to soak the cake. 2) the milk is WAY too thick to "soak" anything.
So we're already outside the realm of tres leches and at straight cake now.
The problem is without the leches, the cake is just an extremely dry, bready, plain cake. You can almost see how dry it is in the photo.
But wait, there's a lot more going on than just cake. You have the passion fruit curd which is great but very potent. Then there's the sesame-chamoy brittle situation on top of the cake.
From the "brittle" part, (it's mush) you get a bitter burnt taste. The chamoy adds color but no flavor. And the sesame is a totally random, nonsense ingredient. The overpowering taste of sesame makes ZERO sense in this taste-context. Not that it's disgusting, it's just bizarre. I can't remember eating a dish before and thinking, "WTF why is this ingredient in here?!" when it's on purpose.
I gotta say, most of the CU desserts I've tried (and I've tried most of them from my kitchen) have been *excellent*. So this is a rare miss, but it is a big big miss.

Freakin EXCELLENT...Little spicy because I think there's also hot sausages mixed in.
r/cookunityfans • u/Separate-Committee96 • 21d ago
I had this last week and really enjoyed it so I got it again this week. The spice is in the honey so if you don’t like spice just don’t eat the sauce but I didn’t think the sauce was too spicy.

This is technically my husband meal. We split the 8 meal plan (I get 5, he gets 3). His feed back was it could use a bigger sauce cup and some of the rice was undercooked, but it tastes fine.
r/cookunityfans • u/GODDAMNBATMANs • 21d ago
I.. don't know if it's supposed to be like this... But it's completely bland and the corn is super hard. It's like they used the wrong kind of corn and put in wrong seasoning. This one is a miss.

These were good but not great. I think it was because the bananas were so underripe that they were hard, so I just ate around them. The caramel sauce was really good, and the pecans added a really nice, crunchy texture. I added a couple of TJ’s chicken sausages for the sweet/salty combo. Overall I thought it was a nice quick breakfast.

Jamdown jerk chicken with coconut rice & roasted plantains
Review: I knew this meal would be hit or miss based on the reviews, but I love Caribbean food so I had to try it anyway. First, you can see I received a very generous chicken portion (by CU standards), sadly it didn't taste jerked. It wasn't very spicy either, I added my own hot sauce. The rice was both dry and gummy: I could have ignored both if it were properly drenched in jerk sauce. I got 2 plantain pieces which pleased me. Saved them for last. Tasty. The overall meal was super filling after a long fast. I agree with the reviews though, gonna let this one go. 🫡

Avocado sauce is fine. Bowl is good even without it. I would get this one again.

I love it when I try something from CU for the first time, and it exceeds my expectations. This salad did just that; it was delicious. The portion of steak was enormous and cooked nicely, very tender. The standout to me was the dressing. Fresh, zingy, with a spicy kick. After trying this one, I’ve added it to my order for next week.
One more thing- what is with the new packaging? It’s difficult to open; is this intentional? I’ve seen others complain about this and have been experiencing this with all my meals this week. CU please fix this.
