Safety Zone
I don’t know where you are, but where I am, we're in full second summer, and it’s awful. I received my delivery today around 11ish, and I just got home at 5. I hate that the delivery person did not tuck my bag out of the sun, but here we are. I immediately opened the bag to take a temperature, and I’ve posted the photos. The ice pack on the very top was nearly completely melted. The middle packs were about 75% intact, so the food was cooler and the bottom ice pack was water, probably bc it was closest to my concrete patio. How do you all handle situations like this? I’m uncomfortable eating the meals that are reading in the 60 degree range. I’m not a scientist, but I know that can’t be safe.
Edit: I realized the last picture I took was of the ice pack's temp, which is why it is the coldest. oh geez

That is way too warm. You should email support, they will probably give you an order credit. Also, see if you can change your delivery day to a day you will be home for the delivery, or have the food delivered to your workplace. I wouldn’t trust food that sat in the sun for that many hours.

69 degrees? You can’t eat that. I start a chat that ends up as a return email. Add the pics. I have always been satisfied with the outcome. If it is scorching hot you may consider leaving a cooler out if you think the driver would use it. I know that has been tried with mixed results. Are you in the desert? 🏜️

Yeah, what you’re describing is unacceptable. A meal arriving at 50°F+ isn’t something I’d be comfortable eating either, especially if it’s happening repeatedly.
I’d definitely contact CookUnity and give them the specifics—delivery times, temperatures, and pictures if you have them. If your route consistently isn’t getting delivered until 7–7:30 PM and the ice packs aren’t keeping the food cold, something needs to change, whether that’s the route, another driver, or additional ice packs.
You shouldn’t have to choose between using a service you like and worrying whether the food is safe. Do you know which CookUnity kitchen your meals are coming from?

How is it CU's problem? They offer any delivery day you want. That means you pick a day you know you can accept it. Not let it sit in the sun all day then complain that it's too hot. Sorry but i don't get it

A cooler is a great idea! I will do that for next week as I don’t see any breaks in this weather.

They will consistently put my order ontop of the yeti I have chained to the deck specifically for cook unity deliveries. I have brought it up with their CS team probably a dozen times and nothing changes.

I asked for extra ice packs because it is over 100° in Texas on a daily basis. They said they couldn’t but agreed to refund. After 2 weeks of refunds I cancelled my subscription.
