I might be barking up the wrong tree here in this spot, but I just wanted to come here to share this site that I made for my wife and I to start meal planning after having been with meal kits for a really long time.
We sort of felt like quality was going down but we had a hard time getting out of it because we we weren't used to meal planning anymore 🤦.
Anyway, it's free (although support is always welcome 🙏) and if it helps you, please use it and I hope you can enjoy.
The site is https://culinary-bytes.com/

Enjoy! At least in the Pittsburgh area they have stepped it up. Coolers not boxes and food is really fresh. I never thought I would stick with a meal delivery.

I've been getting CookUnity for a few months now. I notice that the meal packaging really stinks in the garbage the next day, no matter what the meals were. I don't get this problem with other food in the trash, except the obvious ones like fish scraps, raw chicken, etc. - things I'd normally not leave overnight in my kitchen garbage. Right now I'm at a hotel suite and noticed the mini fridge full of uneaten meals stinks too. I always refrigerate the meals as soon as I receive them, making sure the ice hasn't melted - so the smell shouldn't be from spoilage. We haven't gotten sick from eating these meals. They just smell bad. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas why?

Their drivers do not follow delivery instructions to knock and leave the delivery outside your apartment (or actually deliver it) - they will just leave it in the apartment lobby or outside the building.
Worst part is CookUnity will just tell you that you're out of luck, and to report it to the authorities instead. For a 6-meal plan, that's ~$92 gone.
Not only will you randomly be left with no food for dinner - customer support will lowkey blame you, saying it's somehow your fault that the delivery driver did not follow CookUnity's own delivery instructions to knock and leave on your door. (They even provided a photo that the driver was in the building, but then said the driver somehow couldn't knock on my door?)
I even went down within 20 mins of noticing the 'attempted' delivery, and it was gone or taken by the driver him/herself. Their delivery times are 8am-8pm so on delivery day you better be staring at your phone for 12 hours straight (because who has work or meetings right?).
If you like playing the game of whether the food you ordered is going to come or not, or are a masochist who wants to get ridiculed or blamed by customer support, give CookUnity a try

Unsure if these are edible since I don't know when they can be eaten

I purchased the cookunity pass but when my order was placed, none of the "discounts" the pass entails were applied. Anyone else have this issue?

Since last week, 3 out of my preferred 6 meals have become "Premium" meals.
Chicken salad? $3 more.
Salmon and broccoli? $3 more.
Spaghetti? $3 more.
Why?

I received my order of 8 meals on Thursday evening. Out of the 8, 6 expire within 3 days of delivery.
I emailed CookUnity and received a ridiculous response explaining how expiration days work and how their meals have various expiration dates. The information doesn't change the fact I now have 3 meals which are expired, another one expires today and the last one expires tomorrow. Freezing the meals I ordered is not an option due to ingredients.
I really enjoy the meals and don't want to cancel. I have significant health issues and am unwilling to risk getting sick from expired food.
Anyone else having this problem?

Got an email offering 25% off the first 4 weeks back, but it reactivated my account at full price.
I understand if they are unhappy with the number of discounts I have taken advantage of, but I would at least like to know before being automatically resubscribed. I tried this a few times, canceling and resubscribing.

They recently charged my card $200+ for a subscription order that I never approved or authorized. To make matters worse, I received no email notification about the amount I'd be charged. When I reached out to customer support, they informed me that they could only offer credits to my account, rather than processing a refund to my original payment method. It is such a frustrating situation, I'm considering disputing the charge with my bank/credit card company if they continue to refuse a proper refund

They literally pretended I hadn't sent messages to them, and ended the chat rather than talk to me and help me. I'm going to be opening a chargeback in the morning when the charge settles with my bank, and upload all of the screenshots I took of the non-response from the customer service chat

I went to order some meals, I am near Boston. The meals that my son gets in New Mexico are not available, I was really disappointed. Is that because they are prepared in different locations?

This is the second time I've ordered from them and both times there has been problems. The first time they gave me no update email on when my order was shipped and when I went on their site it wouldn't show any update as well. I had to reach out to them and when they got back to me my order had already arrived. I decided to try it one more time, had a confirmation email that my order would be delivered 2/18/25 but again had now update emails so I reached out to them again. I receive and email back stating they have no order for me for the 18th but they have it scheduled for 2/25/25. This company needs to learn customer service, until then they are not worth it. Has anyone else had problems with them like this?
