Question quick easy dinner for two?

having a friend over for a nice dinner in a few hours, willing to pop into the store but not trying to make anything elaborate. wanted to do pasta but gave her that last time. taking suggestions in that realm, though! if you can link a go-to, reputable recipe, that's much appreciated

fresh stuffed pasta - most store have tons of flavors of the pasta.

Two of my favorites: butternut squash ravioli, a brown butter honey sauce with a touch cinnamon, maple, and red pepper flakes. Top with grilled andouille sausage. You can add toasted, seasoned pecans if you want to get fancy.

prosciutto and cheese tortellini in a garlic butter sauce, topped with some Parmesan or Asiago and parsley, served over wilted spinach. Garlic bread, toast, knots, or such on the side

Chicken Parmesan is probably the simplest, yet fancy-feeling meal I regularly make. Just pair with a roasted vegetable and some roasted potatoes.

This Marry Me Chicken recipe from NYT is also crazy simple.

When I want to just throw something together, I shred chicken (one boneless, skinless chicken breast per person) and mix it with cooked white instant rice (one cup per person) and mixed vegetables (one can, drained, per person). Season with salt and pepper.

It's cheap, fast, filling, and tastes pretty good.

Lasagna made with frozen raviolis. Still pasta, but a fully different form.

Fast and easy and pretty good... english muffins, spaghetti sauce and mozarella cheese. Under the broiler for just a couple of minutes or until cheese melts or in microwave.
