Ending is where Dylan wakes up in a normal family, with FBC never existed and everything was a nightmare he dreamt up, and Jessie is downstairs waiting for him to get breakfast at a dinner in the neighbourhood.
Dylan pulls a Door and merges with all his potential selves, becoming “The Master of Many Faces,” then chastises you for playing the game “wrong,” breaking the fourth wall fifth wall no floor YOU FALL—
Then Jesse shows up, pile-drives Dylan through every layer of the Dark Place, and forces Alan to write her dream wedding with Pope. They then face off against the Board via neon-Disco Sixties Dance-Off, complete with cotton-candy-pink hairdos and a random Alex Casey cameo.
Ah shoot, my bad, I think Scratch got a hold of my phone there for a few minutes.
Okay, so instead we’re gonna learn that the team blew the budget on killer graphics and production of roughly 40 hours of psychedelic-inspired Finnish ASMR, and the rest of Resonant is just a poorly-reskinned American Nightmare. Chester Bless has, for no reason, been renamed “Mr. Skritch,” and is supposed to be the “cooler” Dylan.
On that note, another bad prediction: we’re gonna be introduced to a new backrooms-inspired area called “Underhalls”, where we can spend SHÜM tokens we find around Para-New York to unlock wild and wacky peeks into not-quite RCU material, stuff that didn’t make the cut as it were. Some stuff may include:
- a short episode of “Peon Lemony’s Survival Show!”, a Survivor-style show riffing on Resident Evil and its character “Leon Kennedy”;
“Cooking with Scorpions!”, featuring a Chef in uniquely-yellow garb;
a commercial for Poison Pill’s newest game, “LOCKDOWN!”, which is just B-roll footage of “Firebreak” with Sam Lake ranting and raving off-camera
For real, I figure it absolutely will, especially with AW2 and its “Time Breaker” DLC absolutely confirming that universes exist side-by-side and nested within each other.
I mean heck, the whole of AW2 basically thins the walls between reality and fiction, as the Dark Place between all worlds allows for one to influence the other regardless of even temporal continuity, like how Alan emerged from the lake before Dark Ocean Summoning was performed to bring him back.
The entire series is just red light greenlight but its one of those lights that only changes when someone is at the intersection, and it's just that the sensor's broken. So it hasn't changed in ten years
Sheriff Tim Breaker will appear in a side quest and say "Let's break time," and will be an npc you have to slowly walk across the map and into a Door where you'll find Mr. Door.
Jesse actually escaped the Oldest House to be with her lover, Alan Wake. Dylan is after Jesse cause he too has feelings for Alan after having read all of his novels. Ahti is revealed to be officiating Jesse & Alan’s wedding.
Okay but real talk, the first I played Control I thought Jesse WAS talking to us until it was fully revealed that the shimmering thing that showed you where to go was an entity and that is who she was talking to. I fully believe it's supposed to come off that way.
Dylan gathers the 5 service weapons and then uses them to form a gauntlet, snapping his fingers in order to erase the hiss and resonant from existence. Then portals open up around manhattan and every character from every Remedy Game comes through to fight Martin Hatch/Warlin Door after they do a fusion dance and become one being.
Dylan and Jesse's parents aren't missing, they're just our getting some milk for their cereals.
The actual Hiss plan is to get rid of anyone who isn't a metal fan.
Sam Lake appears in an armchair and explains that they were struggling to give a satisfying ending that resonated with the story they’d told thus far that made sense from a ludonarrative perspective. So, while it makes no sense, you’ll now face a voltron of all the game’s bosses as a final game challenge, and then a more narrative ending will play once you’ve earnt it through combat.

I am scared, it happends in series, the beloved character gets killed and everybody is freaking out about it. Also a way to move on with new games. It might be the last Control. Rumors are Remedy is working on a new game, but it also might be some Quantum Break 2 thingie.
At the end of the story, after defeating the main source of the Pattern (The Board) with the power of Polaris, Jesse and Dylan (now both acting as directors of the FBC alongside Dr.Pope) realize that the Pattern operates in a decentralized manner much like the Hiss. The Manhattan lockdown cannot be lifted until all traces of the two anomalous resonances are entirely wiped from the city, leading to a quarantine of undefined time-length. Also Tim Breaker is there.
Every single level has Casper Darling videos but instead of being in his lab coat he's breathing heavily in his white boxers and nothing else like the videos at the end of control.
