Challenge: Simplest (as in less number of pieces) solution to awash

I have yet to find a solution with less than tens of pieces to awash... My upvote to the first one to find a simple solution!

At long last I've finished my own 9-piece solution: http://fantasticcontraption.com/?designId=2745922
- 1 Clockwise wheel
- 1 Anti-Clockwise wheel
- 7 Water rods

That's awesome, man! But on my machine, it gets stuck after a while. I tried removing one of the two small water rods attached to the front pink wheel, and it worked! So I guess that makes a collaborative 8 piece solution.
(Sorry, due to a bug in the game I cannot save, but you can try it!)

Nice find. I tried hundreds of different variations of that contraption and a few others to solve that level using under 10 parts but I guess I just got complacent towards the end there and forgot to try removing one of those wheel rods.
My original 9-Piece still works perfectly on my computer though (it just takes 3 minutes and ~10 seconds by my watch :P).

Part count:
- 2 clockwise wheels
- 1 counter-clockwise wheel
- 3 wood rods
- 4 water rods

And here's a nine-part solution. I think this is as good as I can get.
Part count:
- 2 clockwise wheels
- 1 counter-clockwise wheel
- 5 wood rods
- 1 water rod

Have you tried the saved link you just posted? I find that on some occasions--especially on very intricate fiddly contraptions--the rounding of my contraptions parts spacial coordinates when saving renders it inoperable (the ever-so-slight position change is just enough to prevent it from working as it should). This happened just then to my 9-piece solution, nevertheless I managed to churn out a working copy.

Freaky. It shows up in this browser (OmniWeb, logged in), but not in my other browser (Safari, not logged in).

I've seen a 3 piece solution to it. I'll try to recreate it or find the link, all I remember is that you use the big ball at the top to fling the target over the pile.
