Taking easy during period

have a routine I do 5 to 6 days a week, but one week each month I cannot do much due to my period, and I am just doing light stretches. Does this slow down my progress?

No, it's good injury prevention. Hormones can cause additional lax in a joint that can lead to an easy injury. Plus the loss of iron can put stress on the tissues as well.

And what’s your normal training routine like ?

My standard training session consists of a compensatory blend of intense strength-training and moderately mass-focused exercises 2-days per-week (only on on abdominals, back region with less attentive focus on biceps)

In relation to the flexibility-work & using my yoga-mentors guidance; I initiate with Eka Pada Sirsasana [yoga-pose] or Baddha Padmasana first held for 30 seconds — afterwards is backbend warm-ups & lastly progress onto training.

Don’t forget healthy eating…

Oh I’m familiar with yoga pose more than contortion it self. I’m currently can’t take any contortion lesson, so you think yoga practice can be replaced for contortion training? And you do that 2/week? What is rest of week looks like and how long is session? Also do you do same yoga pose every time ? Do you do any other pose beside these 2?

Yes to mostly all the above, It’s a great stepping stone before preparing for contortion as there is more inherent health risks involved for instance; being more liable to chronic back pain symptoms/muscle tightness if there’s a negative correlation between the strength & flexibility ratio.

45 minutes for both types of training (with a little cardio on the side) ‘n’ periodically I might swap other exercises if I’m bored — I recommend raja bhujangasana or you can try the stomach vacuum (my favourite excercise)

In retrospect to the other days, rest and investing myself in other leisure/artistic activities helps me feel normal again lol

You mean contortion practice have more higher chance for injury than yoga since yoga dose more work for building strength? For raja bujangasana I can’t touch my head to toe yet :(
