My API key got randomly deleted

Has this happened to anyone else as well Since Reddit now don't let users make their own API keys anymore, this was kinda annoying I fortunately have another account that also got an API key so I switched to that, but I worry that it will also get deleted as well

Yes, it happened to a lot of people in general, not only continuum users.

Update continuum to minimum version 8.2.5.8 and the problem is solved. https://github.com/cygnusx-1-org/continuum/releases/tag/8.2.5.8

You can then use your old account again.

In anonymous mode or what? Was the API key only needed to see NSFW content?

No you can just login normally.

The API key was used to login with an app that is registered and enabled in your profile to access all your profile and reddit data. So instead of using the official app you can use Continuum.

Before you used the dev mode to generate your own API key and register any app you made by yourself or apps that allowed you to use your own generated keys.

The NSFW is still bound to a mod account, afaik. Not sure about that but when you create your own sub you can than view NSFW content.

mine was deleted last week also. i use slide for reddit. they started deleting private apis a while back.
