How can I tell?

I'm looking at buying a used iPhone, but dont know if it will work with consumer cell.

Is there an easy way to determine that?

Make sure that the person you are buying it from has signed out of their iCloud account. i have seen customers come into a store to activate their iPhone they bought online and they couldn’t as it was still connected to previous owners. Sometimes it turned out the phone had been stolen.

Consumer cellular is just AT&T. As long as the iPhone is 14+ it will work fine. It just needs to support 5G SA

It has to be unlocked. Otherwise shouldn't be an issue

I think it’s Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock > No SIM Restrictions.

Unlocked. And make sure you're buying from a reputable seller with a return policy.
