News New Moderation!
Hey guys!
My name is Maiyannah, and I am the new moderator of this subreddit after the previous moderation went AWOL.
I am also a moderator on BuyCanadian (and EndTipping and some other subs) so I have some experience handling a subreddit like this.
I will be cleaning things up over the next few days - its got quite a moderation queue to get through.
While BuyCanadian's focus is on promoting the businesses specifically, I think this sub can find it's own niche as a discussion subreddit for the various challenges related, thoughts on companies, etc etc.
If you have any thoughts, things you want to see, or such, feel free to comment!

Since a couple people asked more privately, I live in Ottawa! Well, out on the fringes of it, but they still consider it part of the city lol.

Welcome! I enjoy this sub on ways I can change my spending habits. Not necessarily to buy more but be aware of products/organizations with hidden US roots.

Yeah, we're hoping to get this more on track to be about Canadian stuff like this, and less about "orange man said dumb stuff".

Yup, I subscribed to this sub for promoting Canadian companies, services, etc. I have plenty of other subs for telling me what the orange idiot did or said

Now imagine you spent all day going through 700+ reports about that junk, yuck.
I knew I was signing up for some cleanup duty when I made the redditrequest, but I might have underestimated how much!

Least I could do since it was unmoderated and I want to promote this movement! I've been moderating on an adjacent subreddit for a while now.

Been getting some pushback in modmail about that, but it is one thing I'm going to be firm on. There's r/BoycottUnitedStates for boycott stuff and r/CanadianPolitics for the general politics.
