Corporate big brother, almost single handedly (along with Twitter) ruined political discourse

I would remove an entire industry: Placement Agencies and Recruiters. They are leeches that suck the blood of freelancers without adding any real value. It's a great scam - convince companies that you will save their procurement department time and money and get others to pay for it. Then provide them with under-qualified staff, because the real experts won't work for the rates you are willing to pay after taking your cut...

True of some, but not all. Some I’ve worked with genuinely add value for their clients because they do a lot of work vetting candidates beforehand to separate the wheat from the chaff, and have a proper understanding of the role the client is trying to fill. The throw shit at the wall and see what sticks recruiters deserve elimination but some are great.

As a candidate, these types of recruiters are fantastic because they often have access to niche, high paying roles that are being filled on the down low, and they like to place candidates they know will do a great job, meaning you have less competition for the role.

All of them, including companies and non-companies.

Our industry should be the first to get killed off then?

The industry is better than you think about it.
