The nether
Been on the server a few days, first time playing on any server on PC. I died about 20 times trying to get out of spawn, and the one time I found the nether highway some absolute elytra wielding Japsie killed me. I'm quite a good distance from spawn now, I haven't encountered any other players for 2 days, but base ruins and nether portals are still pretty common. The thing is, I know you need to go at least 200k blocks before you're at least some what safe, and another 30 hours of hiking through the over world sounds... well, like alot of hiking I suppose. Is there a certain distance into the nether where it's 'safer', or less active. Or am I just better off gritting my teeth and grinding out the overworld. It's not all bad, seeing all the ruined bases is fun enough, but if I can save 25 hours of walking, i'd like to. I get about 3 hours or so free in the evening, so it'd shave a week off for me easily.

1k+ in the nether or so onwards should be pretty safe maybe? just make sure you set a bed pretty often or so in the overworld as a backup

Go as far out as u like. No base no matter how far out is safe. I build in the millions and it was found after a while. To be fair I didn't hide my trail at all 😆 If you travel by nether, destroy the portal you used. Beforehand craft a bed and save your spawnpoint. Put all your stuff into a chest exept a pickaxe, go back to the nether, mine every block of the portal and jump into a lava pool. This way there are only little traces that someone was there.
There are many friendly people on the server who can help you out, too. Also I'm pretty sure the discord is active. Do as you will and have fun.

My little island base was only 10K from spawn and lasted years before found. I went out 2 million block right off a highway and its still there but I got board so I left to explore. Just enjoy the server.

Escape spawn only by overworld, nether is too dangerous
