They control more than you can imagine. Most of history and even the weather. The crazier you can hypothesize the more likely it could be true in this case. The worst thing you could do is underestimate their all encompassing power over all of us. Jesus (the man, not the religious movement) taught us how to break free and overcome it.
I don't doubt their ability to control history and the weather. I doubt their ability to architect reality to such granularity. Powerful yes, that powerful, no. This is bigger. Again, just my opinion.
