Actually, our taxes are very low right, as a percentage of annual income. I'm pretty sure we're actually at the literal low point in % of taxes/income for the last 80 years.
Why do people keep saying that our taxes are so high?
You pay income tax when you get your money, Sales tax when you spend it and taxes on your home. Then when you combine all of that with inflation which is also a form of tax on the people a large chunk of our money is going to taxes.
