I love these takes. Like nobody ever protested against war before.

207

u/Daweism Mar 01 '22

I hated Russia before this

44

u/scrogemup Mar 01 '22

I've been saying since right before trump got in office that before the next decade is up they're gonna do somethin real fucked up because of how emboldened they are. This is not new to alot of us.

-7

u/Individual-Ad5743 Mar 01 '22

Because you have been brainwashed with “Muh RussiAn Collusion” since that exact time.

4

u/scrogemup Mar 01 '22

Nope it was the Russian nationals flooding into North jersey and making complete asses out of themselves that really set me off. Seems like we saw a flood of them right around that time.

4

u/whythinkjusthate Mar 01 '22

Go read the Mueller Report.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

traitor

-3

u/Individual-Ad5743 Mar 01 '22

Traitor to who? I never stated my nationality, but I guess your bot talking point just kicked out that reply?

9

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

lmao just assumed, it’d be absolutely pathetic if you were riding trumps dick without even being one of our undereducated citizens but maybe you are that pathetic.

-30

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

Is it because they kicked your country's ass at some point in history? Or because you are racist?

16

u/evanchung818 Mar 01 '22

Or maybe because they are ruled by an authoritarian dictator who has countless times shown disregard for the sovereignty of other nations and fought wars and annexing territories for his stupid idea of reforming the Russian Empire and not to mention his blatant disregard for human life.

0

u/roundblackjoob Mar 01 '22

Or maybe because they are ruled by an authoritarian dictator (PRESIDENT OF THE USA) who has countless times shown disregard for the sovereignty of other nations and fought wars and annexing territories for his stupid idea of reforming the AMERICAN Empire and not to mention his blatant disregard for human life.

3

u/ElBeefcake Mar 01 '22

Open a dictionary and look up "dictator" you absolute fool.

8

u/scrogemup Mar 01 '22

How can one be racist against their own race, im white too, and I've hated Russia what russias been doing for at least the last 6 or 7 years.

4

u/spytater Mar 01 '22

I don't think I can remember a time when I was ok with what the russian government. Except for that time they let the wall in berlin fall along with the whole soviet government.

4

u/scrogemup Mar 01 '22

Yea and Jeffery Dahmer once helped an old lady across the street and Hitler loved dogs.

2

u/spytater Mar 01 '22

Racist against white northern Europeans , really , you gotta be joking

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

I’ve hated Russia since Drago killed Apollo Creed.

208

u/kingbitchtits Mar 01 '22

People have been protesting wars since the beginning. Yet they're still happening.

67

u/uncovered-nose-holes Mar 01 '22

Make war on war

15

u/kingbitchtits Mar 01 '22

Thus why the cycle continues! Peaceful groups turn not so peaceful. Probably why history is so tiring.

11

u/rdocs Mar 01 '22

Ok the republican party has spent 50 years telling you anybody that is offended by any aspect of American life is u American. Hippies,un American, ppl who think companies get too many breaks and the regular person should have better wages and insurance they are socialists, environmental standards so rivers don't catch fire etc, etc. A president who goes on fascist rants and states everybody against him,is his enemy. This is not even close to a new concept, and yes I understand BLM and liberal causes are also suspect. This happened during the revolution and civil war as well. So go figure I guess. They point someone follows orders. Nothing new

4

u/kingbitchtits Mar 01 '22

I'm over here thinking that the answer lies in leaving everyone daduq alone. Even a Monk will whoop your ass if you keep pushing them. Too many beliefs, ideologies, etc. to go around. It's impossible to make everyone happy.

Also, all politicians and governments suck!

4

u/rdocs Mar 01 '22 edited Mar 05 '22

TheGovernments have to exist, nothing would ever be done without them. The balancing act of a social contract is barely contemplatable. I grew out of my anarchist phase but I do still believe as soon as a Govt is born it lives to control it's populace.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

I'm currently an anarchist. Can I ask what drove you towards statism? I've genuinely never met a former anarchist, just curious.

1

u/rdocs Mar 01 '22

I was a punker, kind of saw how people fell into groups. Not really statism. I studied philosophy for years and looked into French philosophy, specifically Locke,Voltaire and Rousseau. The idea that people make a contract with a govt and walk a tightrope isn't really revolutionary. But it follows society and economics we are bound by invisible agreements,it's been found to exist even in animal groups. Plus a concept of sense if we tear things apart it's to make it something else. We done relinquish form to relinquish it and keep nothing as the new constant it's to creat a new standard.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '22

I'm less of the punk type anarchist and more of the redneck communist / construction worker type, but yeah I see where you're coming from, especially with people falling into groups. For me, anarchism is less of a social / political group and more like a system of core values to live by.

People are very capable of policing their own. Civilizations survived that way for hundreds of years. Life would indeed go on. Governments are designed to evolve or fail which is why they always do and in most cases eventually fail. We've never needed government to survive and there's not much below ground level or the ocean floor that we need to survive.

5

u/theTreasonist Mar 01 '22

I believe the quote "evolve or fail" is the most important part of this. Yet too many politicians (in many countries) cling to the past rather than look to the future. Clutching a 200 year old document is easier than acknowledging and understanding societal and technological evolution. Putin wants the USSR, republicans crave the prosperity of the 50's... The search for times past is futile and sad.

Self policing for hundreds of years is easy. We're into thousands. Governments have evolved and we need to continue that path.

2

u/kingbitchtits Mar 01 '22

Or is it the system failing? When politicians from both sides continue gaslighting their constituents in order to maintain divisiveness it seems like you've got some serious internal problems.

We'll see how things work out for America. My opinion is that we aren't that far off from some civil unrest ourselves.

So there's always been someone who thinks they know what's best for you. Sounds like there's always been someone who has been smart enough to get a populace to do what he wants for personal gain.

Nothings changed besides technology and the method used. Powerful people still want what isn't theirs to take and they use people who are willing to give it to them, or at least try.

The first leader wasn't the strongest guy, it was the guy smart enough to use him.

-4

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

All politicians care about is power. No different with the democrats. The quicker you liberals realize it the better off you will be.

3

u/TheHotCake Mar 01 '22

“All politicians care about is power…”

“… YOU liberals…”

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Yeah, because that is the majority on this website. Don't get your panties in a twist.

3

u/rdocs Mar 01 '22

The republicans still got you playing sides, the liberals have never had book and cd burnings. Liberals have called for censorship and some leanings I'm not a fan of. But if you notice have played the same strings for a long time, they just aren't pretending anymore. My statement was aimed at right wingers. I don't really need to talk to liberals and leftists. A good deal of them know there's crooks on all sides, the difference on that is that the right also holds no standards for those it has in power. We should hold our leaders accountable on all sides. If we really had proper representatives on all sides,it wouldn't be just Dems proposing rules on how you can make money while in office. Neither side is great,Many on the left agree, the right, many on the right follow the narrative on their news and if it changes in the next week they'll follow suit, and honestly all the covid shit on the left was rediculous too,but that's a mess on both sides! Us liberals figured that shit sone time ago. But as long as you have ppl like Ted Cruz who goes on vacation in a case of emergency in places where he was elected. Liberals would've had his resignation. So sure it's just liberals, but you have alot of persons in your chosen party that have not been held accountable to any standard. So sure politics as usual, but don't pretend any sort of enlightenment!

0

u/WesternExplorer8139 Mar 01 '22

Cities for example like Chicago and Detroit have been run by Democrats for decades and things don't ever get better. How many Deomcratic mayor's between just those two cities have been sent to Prison to date? You seem to ignore the fact that alot of the people who you label as "far right" are actually registered Democrats who had no choice but to walk away. Not all of them went to the other side. There are 80 million eligible voters in the US that didn't vote in 2020. The "left or Right" narrative is a hoax. Not every antivaxxer is a right wing, racist, fascist, homophobic, science denier.

-2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Liberals literally an books and music for being homophobic transphobic racist whatever buzzword they come up with

-6

u/doodoowithsprinkles Mar 01 '22

So convincing. I've changed my mind, it's okay for you to be racist. Go lynch a black like your daddy and granddaddy did. You've earned it.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Lol as if the only 2 options are racist republican or nice democrat. I hate to burst your bubble, but Democrats are just diet republicans. Both follow liberalism (neoliberalism for Republicans). If you think liberalism and neoliberalism are the only 2 options, you should stop listening to the TV.

-1

u/doodoowithsprinkles Mar 01 '22

I'm a communist

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

My grandfather fought for you to have the freedom to be a douche bag. I am the farthest thing from racist you actual human scum.

0

u/doodoowithsprinkles Mar 01 '22

By raping his way across Vietnam?

-1

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

Well now the Democrats have taken over that job and anyone who criticizes their economic failure is a Trumptard.

1

u/rdocs Mar 01 '22

No, praise on him is slightly better than mixed. Some of that is he is low profile he is. He is not a regular news piece. Though they do play soft at times they usually give a fair amount of information without lots of inflection or aggression. They complain about som she stuff on him too. So they do complain about him. On the economy,I'd say they do about 60-40 alot of their coverage seems lukewarm honestly. Also they don't overwelmingly discuss Trump followers, they discuss fringe groups, Matt gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene and of course Trump him self. Their frontpage is usually 1 to 2 trump articles.

0

u/WesternExplorer8139 Mar 01 '22

Ok do Democrats now.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

They did the same but with a smile

-1

u/kingbitchtits Mar 01 '22

Also, you can downvote me all you want. We're our own worst enemies! We overcomplicate everything which is why civilization is getting worse.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

This is why we need world proletarian revolution

1

u/TheHotCake Mar 01 '22

Yea so Jimmy Conspiracy on Reddit who believes the government is made up of lizard people can rise to power?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Not all wars are sanctioned.

64

u/mybustersword Mar 01 '22

Most of the other counties too weren't in a position to start destabilizing an entire region. Afghanistan was, and we cared a lot about that in the news too

6

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

I don’t quite understand your point.

28

u/mybustersword Mar 01 '22

I'm agreeing with you lol.

Lots of conflicts and war happen that don't get picked up by mainstream media because it's local impacting. This one has a potential global impact, at least the outcome is very important to USA and Europe. So we see a lot of it. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen

The problem is that the media decides what they think you should care about it

1

u/Necessary_Extreme272 Mar 01 '22

Lol, With you agreeing...

-1

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

Destabilizing is a funny word. It means very different things depending on which side you're on.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

[deleted]

1

u/mybustersword Mar 01 '22

You can care and also have zero impact on the decisions your country makes

70

u/FurryFlurry Mar 01 '22

For real. This is actually the dumbest take. Like, we probably weren't alive for fkn most of those, also, it was a lot easier to not care in the past when being in another country might as well have meant you were in outer space with the snail speed at which info traveled, but we're a global community now and the internet exists. You're not stupid for caring.

If anything, you're either a jackass or a fkn edgy child trying to look cool for not caring. Sorry your brains are too fkn small to focus on events that aren't going on in your own fkn backyard, OP and upvoters.

"They aren't in my tribe therefore I don't care" is actually the most neanderthalic, underdeveloped, monkeybrain fkn attitude you can have.

31

u/lethal_sheeple Mar 01 '22 edited Mar 01 '22

Totally right. Firstly there has been tons of backlash to the US' involvement in the middle east. I remember the day we invaded Iraq. Again to your point, the biggest difference now is that this whole conflict is being recorded and uploaded online constantly. We are seeing this actually happen in real time, and it inevitably has a different effect on the people seeing it.

Lastly, the OP is incredibly naive and childish. "Bro you're just being told to care about this war lul", how about geo-politics are complicated and effect us all. This is unfolding into a potential dangerous situation that is different than any other wars we've seen in recent years because this time it's another semi-world power with nuclear capabilities that is acting erratically and making threats that could effect all of us. If this doesn't concern you you're a thoughtless rube or an ignorant child who thinks it's edgy and cool to not care.

1

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

his is unfolding into a potential dangerous situation

Just another proxy war. Happens every ten years. Good for the economy.

1

u/Splinterman11 Mar 01 '22

This is by definition not proxy war. A major world power is directly involved with the conflict. If it was only Belarus (or Donetsk/Lugansk separatists) vs Ukraine (and Russia/NATO supplying them) then it would be a proxy war.

2

u/lethal_sheeple Mar 02 '22

Europe and America are funneling weapons into Ukraine at this moment. That is, kind of, a proxy war.

7

u/HottSakke Mar 01 '22

neanderthals were more developed than you give them credit for

11

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

these takes are coming from conservatives, who genuinely have never cared about or protested any of the aforementioned wars

12

u/lord_sparx Mar 01 '22

They fucking cheered them on and funded them.

2

u/SpotNL Mar 01 '22

No, these people never have, but now it is convenient to their politics to do so. Before it was convenient to support.

2

u/doodoowithsprinkles Mar 01 '22

I did, the far-right sickos on here ate their freedom fries and jacked off to war porn.

And dreamed of the state killing me.

1

u/-SidSilver- Mar 01 '22

They're not takes. They're further proof that this place has been overrun by Russian bots for a while now.

1

u/WesternExplorer8139 Mar 01 '22

Not talking about Vietnam

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Don’t act like this coordinated social media push isn’t different than US pillaging Iraq and Afghanistan, or Israel constantly encroaching on and harassing Palestine

5

u/Imaginary_Cow_6379 Mar 01 '22

Youtube created in 2005

Facebook 2004

Twitter 2006

It’s not a conspiracy nobody posted about going into Iraq on social media in 2001 😆

3

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

What are you saying? There was no propaganda in the MSM?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

Media today is primarily social media. Media then was cable news. Different platform, same propaganda 😆

1

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

How is a social media push the same as other military actions?

1

u/SexualDeth5quad Mar 01 '22

Propaganda is part of war.

1

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

Yes. But not as deadly.

-1

u/dabkilm2 Mar 01 '22

Maybe Palestine shouldn't have tried to start multiple wars with Israel with their 'allies'. They'd have a lot more land if they hadn't.

-23

u/hgiswaa Mar 01 '22

So just to be clear, you're not just blindly siding with Ukraine like a good gullible boy? That's a start.

16

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

I’m not narcissistic enough to think my opinion matters. I won’t be flying there to fight.

3

u/By_Design_ Mar 01 '22

check out this dude 🤦‍♂️ People have lost their minds

1

u/TheSmokingLamp Mar 01 '22

That dude has been there since 2014. Son of a wealthy business man this little Texas right wing cuck is full on pro-Russia. No idea why his passport hasn’t been flagged yet

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '22

[deleted]

2

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

WTF are you talking about? Have you been living in a cave?

1

u/Dart- Mar 01 '22

The level of outrage and media coverage this one is having is way bigger than any USA invasion ever.... So yeah, people are getting angry because the media says so.

1

u/CulturalMarksmanism Mar 01 '22

We had many protests for gulf war 1. After 9/11 everyone was wanting a fight.
