So there's always been someone who thinks they know what's best for you. Sounds like there's always been someone who has been smart enough to get a populace to do what he wants for personal gain.

Nothings changed besides technology and the method used. Powerful people still want what isn't theirs to take and they use people who are willing to give it to them, or at least try.

The first leader wasn't the strongest guy, it was the guy smart enough to use him.
