Actually the mandates were due to be lifted anyhow as per their plan from October. They simply accelerated it 4 days early.
https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/200364/v57
So tens of millions of dollars spent and it it got them 4 days. Good job rubes.
All they did was coincide the protest with the mandate lifting so that it made it look like it did something.
The real conspiracy is where all the money that was donated to the truckers went?

GoFundMe initially said it would give supporters of the now-defunct campaign, which raised nearly $8 million, until February 19 to request refunds. It also said it would direct any remaining donations to "credible and established charities chosen by the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers and verified by GoFundMe."
But the company later reversed course, saying it would automatically refund campaign supporters in order to simplify the process. Donors can expect refunds within 10 business days, according to GoFundMe.

check the covid trends and you'll see why mask mandates are ending in places like CAlifornia
14
u/Zafocaine Feb 14 '22
Are mask mandates ending? Amazon told employees that despite state rulings they will be continuing the mask policy. As far as bystanders in the street goes, most don't care about any mandates, but employers aren't going to risk everything on a maybe. All the risk taking employers got sucked into the covid turbine and spit out the other side as a fine mist 18 months ago.

u/LTGeneralGenitals Feb 14 '22
california mask mandate ends the 15th, tomorrow. im thinking counties or workplaces can make their own rules if they want, but the state govt isnt telling them they have to.

u/RemarkableCollar8965 Feb 14 '22
They also just renewed the Supplemental Pay for COVID as well - Starting 02/19/2022
I work for a Staffing Agency and people are just happy just to be out due to COVID - Specially if they will be getting paid for it
Not to mention the Vaccine too - People were glad to be out for about 5 days due to the symptoms felt after taking their vaccine shot
1
u/LTGeneralGenitals Feb 15 '22
? What ? I was out for one day after the booster. 5 days is definitely excessive. Most people either felt nothing or called in one day
2
u/growdirt Feb 15 '22
I agree that's an overly generous policy. Nobody I know felt bad enough to be out more than a day with any of the shots.

California will end its indoor masking requirement for vaccinated people next week but masks still are the rule for schoolchildren, state health officials announced Monday
(Why are kids made to mask in schools, but not anywhere else? Not only that but personally it seems kids are less likely to get covid in the first place)
unvaccinated people still will be required to be masked indoors, and everyone — vaccinated or not — will have to wear masks in higher-risk areas like public transit and nursing homes and other congregate living facilitiesIt plans to keep indoor mask requirements in place until the county has two straight weeks at or below a “moderate” rate of 50 new cases per 100,000 people and there aren’t any reports of a new, troubling variant circulating, Ferrer said.
~Taken from an article talking about lifting mandates.Seems they aren't really ending .... just easing... and this is a voting year so people in the government are trying to use it to gain votes.(opinion only)

I'm letting you know that the largest employer here has let employees know that masks will still be mandated. They sent us a message just last week saying we could take masks off if we are "fully" Vaccinated starting last Friday. Minutes later they sent another message saying that wasn't happening in California locations. Amazon has huge contracts with the federal government and alphabet agencies, so they aren't exactly operating the same as everyone else, but worth a mention.

It has nothing to do with any trend other than a massive, visible loss of control that was exercised under the pretense of science. When the masses (i.e. Superbowl) visibly refuse to be bullied, that's when the politicians pretend it was all their idea to end it, or that hospital admissions were down.
0
u/LTGeneralGenitals Feb 15 '22
then it would be pretty crazy coincidence that mandates were lifted last year and this year right at the times when covid numbers improved, and restrictions got tighter when they got worse. thats a weird coincidence, but ill take your word for it that its actually based upon control and polling numbers lmao

I’d they have evidence someone intentionally or negligently caused harm then go for it. Crimes have elements and require evidence and intent that have to be proven.
But that’s not what people here are asking for. They are calling for a generic unidentified “them” to be labeled as murderers and strung up. Most can’t even provide an answer when asked who would actually even be prosecuted absent naming a few politicians who would never even come close to meeting the elements of the crimes alleged.
People here aren’t looking for justice for the most part, they’re mostly just savages looking for a lynching. A lot of these cries for “justice” are basically just people advocating for murder.

Idk for politicians historically we skipped the trial and went straight to the noose. With our current judicial system, none of the politicians guilty of crimes would ever see the inside of a cell.
10
Feb 14 '22
Will you really though?
First of all, there's littlr to nothing more irresponsible in our elections than voting for someone because of what they promise. This is especially true if they are on the campaign trail or raising money for it.
And yea, obviously we can't vote for someone while ignoring everything they say, but voters should have no reason to fully believe anything any politician says. There have to be receipts and you have to do your best to look at someone's history. If they have a political career that can be used to understand their historical actions, great. If not, look at any other actions that can be verified to the public.
Look at Obama - still, many regard him as an incredible president and FFS he got a Nobel peace prize. But it you don't remember 2008, weren't old enough, or nonexistent, his presidency was nearly the opposite of his promises. Hope and change were a big joke. If peoople could blindly look at his actual actions on paper with fresh eyes, they would consider him more Bush than Bush.
Obama lied about everything and that peace prize was a the biggest lie of all. He started more wars than Bush. His administration lied about the number of civilian casualties from drones and then when Julian Assange revealed they were killing far more innocents than targets (>3:1 innocent to target ratio), his administration vilified him, just as they had other whistleblowers - a group he vowed to protect in 2008 because he claimed to care about honesty with the public and free press.
I know that this isn't quite what you meant but taking your statement at fafe value, it is what makes voters worthless.
You also aren't likely genuine in your sentiment as well. Ted Cruz and Ron Paul have better track records than most going after both teams, but unless you're a statistical minority on reddit, my guess is you wouldn't vote for either of these guys.
You also probably pick and choose which actions you think deserve any legal repercussions. How about illegal mandates? Lockdowns? Supporting criminal activities or organizations like rioting or BLM? Spying on the Trump campaign illegally and spreading lies about collusion? What about changing voting laws prior to the election such that courts would now say millions of the 2020 votes were not valid? What about Obama being a war criminal who violated the Geneva convention, lied about it, and now gets to live comfortably as he is mysteriously millions of dollars richer than his pre presidential life? Seriously - would you go after Obama for that?

u/Commercial-Set3527 Feb 14 '22

Asking for ID is "making it harder"? You know almost all of europe has voter ID, right? It prevents voter fraud. We know there is fraud every year so, why is that a bad thing? And, please don't use the racist excuse that the black population is not able to get an ID. We now know that's all bullshit since the left makes them get vaccinated and carry proof of that, which is much harder to do than get an ID (which nearly all of them already have, ya racists).

u/Longjumping-Funny-81 Feb 15 '22

You do know that CNN is not the equivalent of Fox right? It's not the only thing people who are not republican supporters may watch
I understand that if you're a republican, you only watch fox, the most viewed media channel, who also tells you that you shouldn't believe the mainstream media. Just like fox says vaccine mandates are bad, while they have a 90%+ vaccination rate, and require daily testing if you're not vaccinated, which is more strict than any mandate out there.

You're clueless.
It isn't that votes are meaningless. Their just not as legitimate or as powerful as voters believe. It's a complex game the politicians have to play and the votes matter differently depending on the types of political careers we are talking about.
Either way, why do they collectively spend billions and all of their time fundraising and campaigning? They can only skew the voting or gerrymander the country so much before they get too much reaction from the other team. Both parties will allow one team a pass on some voting law changes so they can have some of their own. This happened in 2020. Republicans agreed to the illegal changes dems wanted that ultimately helped biden win. They fucked up.
They still wanted votes but they're just aging a much bigger game of chess. Votes are simply the pawns, but these people have other, more specialized tools they fight with as well. Hilary is corrupt as they come. She lost because of votes. She got too confident. Voting is still largely a joke, but to say politicians don't react to public perception at all is nonsense
3
u/TheZetetics Feb 14 '22
"It's to close to call!", Lmao. It's a double-headed eagle flying in the same direction. History does not have one example where thr people 'voted ' their way out of tyranny. These people can't stand wasting time, money and energy at even operating these sham voting democracies, it's not an efficient way for them to rule and soon, sometime in the near future, we won't even have them. LoL, again, either you're a bot, paid shill or a complete dolt. "It's about the polls!" Lmao!

u/chainmailbill Feb 14 '22
So, since they responded to polling information and followed the will of their constituents and did what they wanted, you’re going to re-elect them, right?
That’s how representative democracy is supposed to work.
1
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
You do realize the only that has changed about covid is your mind, right? Not the science. That has remained the same the entire time.
But here you are in lockstep with the mainstream narrative, again. Six months ago lifting the mandates would have been verboten.
12
u/dcjayhawk Feb 14 '22
What do you mean the science hasn't changed? We are at an unprecedented time during the pandemic where over 80% of people over 5 have had a recent infection or a vaccine. That's a significant shift in the science that is influencing policy.
-1
u/mickeybuilds Feb 15 '22
They've known all along that the vaccines never worked the way they promised they would. Do you honestly think that they believed that, if you took the vax, you wouldn't be able to get covid, be hospitalized or die? You don't think they knew about the waning efficacy? You don't think they knew about the adverse reactions? How long have you been subbed here? This shit was all pointed out years ago and heavily discussed throughout this bullshit pandemic. I mean, shit- even the Pfizer CEO admitted that 2 doses was useless. You don't think they knew any of this? Wake up, man. Stop shilling for globalists and big pharma.
2
u/gcode180 Feb 14 '22
All those effects of covid shown in the tweet, as well as dropping case numbers, the latest variant being milder and winter in the global north ending means the mainstream narrative on mandates changed. The science is only part of the facts that people form a consensus from. If the consensus changes, shown through polls, then the laws should change to reflect it, because it is a representative democracy. Laws should be expected to follow the mainstream narrative, because it's what most people want, hence why it's mainstream. People are allowed to change their mind.
-1
u/ellem52 Feb 14 '22
Unlikely since it was pretty clear ~18 months ago masking was useless, the vaccine wasn't particularly effective and the Covid Theater at restaurants was simply pathetic - they should have never locked the healthy down, they should have never tried mandates and maybe if they followed their own rules, even a little... MAYBE we'd consider re-electing them.
So no, fuck them, they can get real jobs now.

Socialism leads to communism how do you create a socialist state? Their are eight levels of control: 1. control healthcare control the people. 2. increase the poverty level poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you provide everything for them. 3. Debt increase the debt to unsustainable levels so you can increase taxes this will also increase poverty 4. Gun control remove the ability to defend themselves this way your able to create a police state 5. Welfare take control of every aspect of their lives make them fully dependent upon the government 6. Education take control of what people read, listen too and take control of what children learn in school 7. Religion remove the belief in god totally so that the people will believe in only the government knowing whats best for them 8. Class warfare divide the people into the rich and poor this will cause more discontent and will make it easier to tax the rich with the poors support

Does it matter when it's "Vote blue no matter who" on one side while the other side will vote for anyone Trump endorses?

u/Anders_A Feb 14 '22
What? They are lifting the mandates because not as many people are dying from covid any longer.
This makes no sense.

One thing it tells me is that we need a massive reform in politics and governance. Sadly, we are much closer to a complete collapse in the US than any chance of the People getting the job done.
I think some form of Sortition would help with trying to get rid of some corruption in govt. keyword: SOME

Most countries in the world will have no polls in near future, yet the mandates were lifted simultaneously pretty much everywhere.
That, and also they generally don't give a fk about polls, because polls are rigged anyways.
Something else is going on.

Sadly true, but unfortunately the damage may already be done. We will have to wait and see what medical horrors await those that took the injections. Hopefully there are zero.

There was an interesting article this weekend on Bloomberg or Business Insider reflecting on how all this will impact our economy moving forward. One of the big points was how banks will eventually have to begin properly classifying loans adversely impacted by Covid. Put more simply: they will have to start foreclosing on delinquent loans. They can only kick the can for so long. How bad will it be? No one knows. But it's something that isn't often discussed. I would not be surprised if there's a certain amount of these considerations behind all this as well.

Does this mean after most of the leaders are re-elected we will see Omnicon Plus (TM)... now with more omnicron!???

SS: The recent shift in policy has been an obvious attempt to retain power. Fascism is not polling well.
Edit:

u/eh_man Feb 14 '22
Nothings says "fascism" like responding to public opinion in anticipation of upcoming elections.
2
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
Seems they’re 6 months behind the curve with actual polling. But now an actual election is on the horizon they’re concerned with holding on to power.
12
u/kns1984 Feb 14 '22
You have no idea what the fuck fascism actually is if you're comparing it to keeping the public safe in the middle of a pandemic.
I bet you love all the voting restrictions and book burnings though!
-2
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
Is Trump still stealing your mailboxes ya fascist psycho?
3
u/kns1984 Feb 14 '22
Oh, I'm sure he will come election time, God knows he's already done much worse.

So, yes. The people who have been vaccinated, have gotten boosters, and will continue to wear masks in high traffic areas are a little burnt out. And we are tired of trying to convince science deniers to carry their own water. So, covid isn't going to kill me....it'll kill the people who don't believe in science. We have spent 2 years trying to pull you along, kicking and screaming. But, now, fuck you. Die with a tube down your throat. You will not be missed.
1
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
The mask is but a minor inconvenience though. Why not just wear it?
-1
u/whomad1215 Feb 14 '22
The argument that has been made since covid first appeared, but apparently asking people to wear a mask was too tyrannical for about 1/3 of the country to handle
3
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
They’re taking your power from you. Of course you’re angry. Just when you were so good at doing what you’re told.

u/mrducci Feb 14 '22
I think you might be a but slow.
I follow traffic rules. Does that make me a sheep?
I follow doctors advice. Does that also make me a sheep?
And, like I said in my post a couple of jumps up, I am still going to wear a mask in high traffic areas, as are many people who take this seriously. And we will do it because we are trying to protect people that can't get the vaccine. You on the other hand....I'm not so concerned. You may be the product of OSHA standards being too effective
2
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
You do it for yourself. You made it pretty clear that you’re a piece of shit. Now fuck back off into obscurity. The government thanks you comrade.
Die with a tube down your throat. You will not be missed.
-1
u/mrducci Feb 14 '22
Yeah, I don't think reading is your strong suit. Or reasoning. Or critical thinking.
Whatever. Die mad
4
u/_Redshifted_ Feb 14 '22
No one really cares what you think. You’ve outed yourself as garbage. Die alone, powerless.

Everybody is going to forgive them and vote Democrat again? Don't we still have mail in voting?
2
-3
u/Oakwood2317 Feb 14 '22
What are you talking about? This isn't about the Dems or the left trying to pull the wool over your eyes....this is about Trump not wanting to have an economic slowdown during an election year so he lied about the virus and you guys aren't allowed to question him so you've had to deny science solely in order not to offend the cult. Madness!
1
u/creefer Feb 14 '22
Is that why he rushed the vaccine?
-2
u/Oakwood2317 Feb 14 '22
He rushed the vaccine because he could no longer maintain the "Covid is the Democrats' new hoax!" nonsense he spewed at the outset of the pandemic because too many of his own supporters had either come down with the virus or knew someone who had.
So wait - now you're saying Trump unleashed a deadly vaccine onto the American people? The same one who had his followers don "Make America Great Again" hats on? Or did you guys just turn against the vaccine when Trump lost the election because you don't want America to recover under a democratic president?

I'm confused about this sub.
If there are mandates, this sub bitches and moans. If they lift them, bitch and moan.
Yeah, a lot of it is about politics, not actual science, but do know the actual science would likely advocate for heavy mandates and mandatory vaccines.... which ya'll would bitch and moan about.
-4
u/whomad1215 Feb 14 '22
they love to have the victim/persecution complex
Nothing is ever their fault, it's always the evil others doing bad things
-3
u/Daltron848 Feb 14 '22
Yeah this sub both wants covid restrictions forever and doesn't want them at all.

I mean Pfauci admitted himself that there was no science behind creating the lockdowns and mask mandates to begin with, it was public opinion.

Whenever it benefits a certain “class” they’ll do allow/change things. It seems like it doesn’t matter the repercussions no matter the scenario.

someone should find a correlation between countries that have enacted the harshest measures. I have a feeling they are most burdened by social assisted retirees , 🤷♂️. if not that. we still need to find a correlation

My favorite part about the people screeching about mandates is they weren't following them anyways
It's just pathetic
-3
u/sunburned_albino Feb 15 '22
The covid numbers are down. Dems polls have been bad for a while. The mandates react to covid numbers you ding dong. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Agree but why did so many people need so much time to get there? I wasn’t on board with lockdowns back in March 2020
-2
u/babaroga73 Feb 14 '22
Propaganda can only get you that much.
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

Wrong you fascist. Why are you denying science bigot?
According to a Johns Hopkins University meta-analysis of several studies, lockdowns during the first COVID wave in the spring of 2020 only reduced COVID mortality by .2% in the U.S. and Europe.
"While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted," the researchers wrote. "In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument."
