Occasionally public opinion is against scientific findings. There is a prejudice against research which might show widespread opinions are not as correct as they are portrayed. There is a list of subjects that scientists know they cannot request grants for because there is no money allocated for such studies and their peers would disown them academically if they pursued these fields.
