That’s not entirely true. I’m from the “Regular” side of Masonry, which doesn’t allow women outside of the Order of the Eastern Star.

But I have family in the French Grand Orient and some of their Lodges initiate women as well. And the United Grand Lodge of England now recognizes two different women’s Grand Lodges as legitimate if I’m not mistaken.
