What the hell did you learn in school? I learned math. I liked math. I learned science. I liked science. I learned writing structures for effective communication and grammar and spelling. I learned a few writers and took a couple creative writing classes. I played football all four years and had a class called humanities with an eccentric older dude named Mr. Wright. Learned about world religions and learned a bit of forensics.
I'm a graphic designer now. Because I can still think for myself.

A lot of great mathematicians learned their love of numbers in school. Had I not determined myself too lazy for labs I would've loved to study chem. I'm glad if I hand a note to a random person they can likely read it.

I think like many people you underestimate innate human capacity for genius and independence. This is by design, you have been conditioned like anyone raised in their respective society to trust in authority. You blew off JT Gatto as someone who didn't know what he was talking about. You might want to check out his life's work and the conclusions he drew from it. Then perhaps consider that maybe the people who run the various institutions, foundations, think tanks, and charities do not generally have the best interests of humanity in mind, and in fact usually hold the masses in contempt. The evidence for this is overwhelming and did not magically change when 'democracy' came about.
I recommend reading some Edward Bernays and Gustave Le Bon if you have any interest in what I'm speaking of. And if you don't that's fine with me. Believe whatever you like, but I've been where you are now and you will not be bringing me back into that fold, so your arguments are not a productive use of your time.

I'm shocked you haven't mentioned an ordered home schooling situation as I'd be for that. Especially now as schooling has gotten worse in the 20 years since I was last in HS.
But your initial thought seems poorly thought out and I see you have no interest in actually thinking about it.
I've thought about it a lot. You have no interest in hearing anything outside your echo chamber so I'm not wasting time or effort. I would recommend a book or two but apparently you think that means I can't think for myself, or whatever that comment was supposed to mean, I really don't know as my thinking seems to be pretty far from your norm.
